Nicole Drought uses 91传媒 Racing components on her EP3 Civic Type R

Nicole Drought has been competing in the MSVT Trackday Championship for 2025, continuing to run 91传媒 components in her Civic Type R.

Drought has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped her yield some great results in recent years.

We caught up with Drought following the penultimate round at Croft Circuit, where she currently sits 5th overall and 4th in class. As she is unable to compete in the final race at Brands Hatch (with ex-teammate Justin Roberts taking the hot seat for this race instead), the team took this opportunity to reflect on the hugely successful year they鈥檝e had so far.

Read about it all below in their own words鈥

鈥淭he 2025 season has been a memorable one for Nicole Drought and the Motion Motorsport 91传媒 Racing Honda Civic Type R, with a campaign full of highs, challenges, and some unforgettable performances that perfectly showcased the strength of both driver and team 鈥 and the reliability and performance of 91传媒 Racing products under extreme competition.

鈥淔rom the opening round at Snetterton, Nicole made her intentions clear. A commanding performance saw her take pole position, fastest lap, and race victory, securing maximum points and placing the 91传媒 Racing Civic firmly at the top of the championship standings. It was the perfect start to the year and a powerful demonstration of the performance advantage offered by 91传媒 Racing components, trusted by Motion Motorsport across every race weekend.

鈥淩ound Two at Silverstone continued that momentum. Nicole once again took pole position before engaging in a thrilling battle with Matt Swaffer鈥檚 BMW. Showing both speed and composure, she came out on top to claim her second win of the season, again setting fastest lap in the process. It was another textbook display of precision driving and confidence in her 91传媒 Racing-equipped Civic, further extending her championship lead heading into the summer break.”

鈥淎s the season unfolded, Nicole continued to impress. At Donington Park, she once again showed her pace by leading much of qualifying and mastering some of the worst weather conditions seen all year. Despite an unfortunate off caused by standing water, her earlier speed underlined both her talent and the car鈥檚 potential.

鈥淥ulton Park brought more drama and determination. After early brake issues in qualifying, the team fitted New EBC SR-11鈩 sintered pads, transforming the car鈥檚 balance and performance. Nicole immediately fought her way up the field, showcasing both her racecraft and the consistency of 91传媒 under pressure. Coming home first on the road, taking the checker flag, Although a pitstop timing issue dropped her down the order post-race, the pace was undeniable 鈥 and a reminder of just how competitive the Civic package had become.”

鈥淎t Cadwell Park, Nicole once again delivered, securing another podium finish after a thrilling drive through the field. Despite battling dehydration and challenging conditions, she pushed hard to close a six-second deficit, taking valuable points and keeping her championship hopes alive.

鈥淐roft Circuit brought further frustration with a mechanical issue ending a dominant run, but not before Nicole had once again claimed pole position, fastest lap, and led convincingly before her retirement. It was another weekend that proved the combination of 91传媒 Racing technology and Motion Motorsport engineering could go wheel-to-wheel with the very best.

鈥淎lthough Nicole will be unable to contest the Brands Hatch finale, her seat will be filled by last season鈥檚 teammate, Justin Roberts, who will return to the 91传媒 Racing Civic for the final round. The team and partners are proud of what Nicole has achieved throughout 2025 鈥 her commitment, pace, and professionalism have been first class, and she鈥檚 represented 91传媒 Racing and all her personal sponsors with passion and determination at every event.鈥

The team is using 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 new endurance pad in a number of race series around the UK

Jeremy Evans and Phil Hart are the drivers of the Tunbridge Wells-based Semprini Racing outfit 鈥 a team that is currently campaigning a K24-engined EP3 Honda Civic Type R across both the MSV Trackday Trophy and BRSCC Supersport Endurance Championship race series in the UK (also performing occasional rounds in the MSVT Trackday Championship and the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy).

The duo rely on 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 SR-11鈩 pads (front axle) and 91传媒鈥 Bluestuff B pads (rear axle).

We catch up with the outfit mid-way through the 2025 season, where they鈥檝e already encountered plenty of thrills and spills along the way, as you can read in their own words below鈥

鈥淎 mixed first聽half of the season!

鈥淪emprini Racing鈥檚 EBC-equipped Honda Civic has had a busy and mixed start to the season. Electrical gremlins in pre-season testing meant the first round of the BRSCC Supersport聽Endurance Cup was missed, with the season starting instead with the MSV Trackday聽Trophy at Silverstone.

鈥淭his season, the Civic is once again with the tried-and-tested combination of EBC SR-11鈩 front pads and Bluestuff聽rear, giving that great combination of stopping power and pedal feel.

鈥淪olid mid-class pace at Silverstone, but importantly, reliability from the first race with a new engine wiring loom gave the team a huge relief.

鈥淣ext up was the delayed return to the Supersport聽grid at Oulton Park, a great track and firm favourite of both Jeremy and Phil. Tricky, changeable wet/dry conditions saw the pair again solidly mid-class without taking undue risks. The feel from the SR-11鈩/Bluestuff聽combo meant braking in the changeable conditions was predictable and the drivers could concentrate on finding grip on the damp track. Despite a last lap clutch failure, the Civic was classified as a finisher and we breathed a sigh of relief, only to have the recovery truck pull the front of the car off and damage the oil cooler, meaning a bigger repair job than hoped for!

鈥淲ith clutch and oil cooler replaced and the car put back together, it was off to Snetterton 鈥 a circuit the Civic has performed well at historically. Qualifying was tricky with both drivers unhappy with the feel from the car and unable to match times from previous visits. We started the race a bit further back than hoped for and after 20 minutes alternator failure ended our race early. We subsequently found a leaky shock absorber to explain the poor handling. Surely our luck had to change soon!

鈥淥nwards to Brands Hatch and back to the Trackday聽Trophy on the iconic Grand Prix circuit. Jeremy is driving these races solo this year as Phil shares another Civic with his sons in this series. Putting in competitive lap times in an extremely close top Class B, Jeremy improved on his previous visits to the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit and was comfortable in the car, now complete with new shock absorber and alternator plus some other setup changes. A fresh set of each of the SR-11鈩 and Bluestuff pads completed the car prep.

鈥淎 poor start by Jeremy saw him drop a couple of places and settle in to a battle in the middle of the class B pack. A safety car just as the pit window opened where Jeremy decided to stay out and gain a lap over those ahead who pitted backfired when the Safety Car picked up Jeremy as the leader and slowed him right down. Pitting next time around, the circuit went green as the Civic was stationary, compounding the loss in time!

鈥淣ow in 18th,聽Jeremy set about overtaking anything in his path, leaning on the EBC brakes as never before to overtake a total of 10 cars 鈥 including three in once corner 鈥 and finish in 8th聽overall, 7th聽in class, with a new personal best lap time. The car felt great and performed well 鈥 the driver could do better!鈥

鈥淏ack to the BRSCC and Donington聽Park, where Phil re-joined Jeremy for a double-header Clubsport聽45-minute race we used as a test for the main event, the 2-hour SuperSport race on Sunday.

鈥淎nother solid mid-class outing in wet conditions on Saturday set us up well for Sunday鈥 or so we thought! Going out first in qualifying on Sunday, Jeremy set out for an early push lap while the track was quiet, unaware a helpful Mini had dropped coolant at the top of the circuit at the fast right hander at Coppice. Full of confidence, Jeremy turned into the corner fully committed to have the car go straight on and into the gravel trap, beached! The lovely marshalls hooked us up to a telehandler and dragged the Civic out so Jeremy could put in another lap to get the requisite three before handing over to Phil. As we鈥檇 received 鈥榤echanical assistance鈥 to get out of the gravel trap, none of our subsequent lap times counted, so we were plum last on the grid!

鈥淣ot to be deterred, Phil took the start and had overtaken five cars before the first corner as he set off to make up places. During his hour-long stint, Phill got us up to an incredible 2nd聽in class by the time of the change-over. Keeping it consistent and battling fading tyres and diminishing fuel, Jeremy had a good battle for position with the fast Mazda MX-5 in our class and brought the Civic home in 2nd聽for our first podium and trophy of the season! Finally a good result where car and drivers had combined well,

鈥淥ur travels took us to Croft circuit next – the first time Jeremy had been to the new layout, having last raced there on the rallycross circuit over 20 years ago! A fresh pair of SR-11鈩 front pads and it was into a free practice session to iron out any issues and do a bit of set up work followed by a good qualifying in P2 in class behind the all-conquering Audi TT that is dominating this class, but in front of the MX-5 we are battling with.

鈥淛eremy took the start and actually overtook the Audi into turn 1, but was soon back down to 2nd as the rocket ship Audi took off and joined the battle with the cars in the classes above. Keeping an eye on the Mazda鈥檚 pit board, Jeremy could see the gap increasing as he pulled away and settled into a nice rhythm. The Civic then threw its latest curveball by losing 3rd gear as Jeremy came out of the complex towards the final hairpin after 20 minutes. Despite this – and a couple of excursions – he managed to maintain 2nd in class and hand over to Phil with a very useful buffer. Phil duly maintained and then extended the gap before a late safety car which – this time – played into our hands and increased the gap to the Mazda. We crossed the line for another P2 and another trophy, plus a front left tyre down to the cords!”

鈥淏ack to Donington and back with MSV for the double header weekend of Trackday Trophy and Trackday Championship. For the first time this season, Jeremy was entered in the TDC and duly strapped on a set of the control Toyo R888R tyres for the wet/very wet qualifying session. Driving on these tyres in the wet for the first time, the Civic Jeremy kept his head and didn鈥檛 push things too hard, to come in mid-grid.聽

鈥淭he race started even wetter and after a reasonable start, Jeremy was battling in a group of cars when one – another MX-5 – spun in front and into the path of an evasive-action taking Jeremy who had nowhere to go, slamming into the spinning Mazda and sustaining considerable damage to the front left of the car.聽

鈥淚t鈥檒l take some time to repair the Civic, but the aim is to be back out this season, at the very least for the season-ending Birkett Relay, but hopefully for a couple more events before that.

鈥淏ig thanks to 91传媒 for the support again this season – we may not get through as many sets of pads as we鈥檇 have liked to due to our enforced absence for a while, but the SR-11鈩//Bluestuff combo has been one thing we haven鈥檛 had to worry about in this challenging season!鈥

Nicole Drought races in the MSVT Trackday Championship

After a comfortable win in the 2024 season, Nicole Drought is back competing in the MSVT Trackday Championship for 2025, continuing to run 91传媒 components in her Civic Type R.

Drought has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped her yield some great results in recent years.

A spree of wins in the first half of 2025 put Drought in good stead for the title once again, but she did face a few hurdles at the latest round at Derby鈥檚 Donington Park, as you can read in the team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥91传媒 racer Nicole Drought saw her run of podium finishes come to an abrupt end in Round 3 of the Trackday Championship at the iconic Donington Park GP circuit, following a high-speed crash during treacherous wet conditions.

鈥淒rought had dominated a soaked qualifying session in her EBC-backed Honda Civic Type R, setting the pace early and holding an impressive 2.7-second gap to the rest of the field. With 10 minutes remaining, she brought her Motion Motorsport-prepared machine into the pits, believing the time could be safe. However, as the track improved slightly in the closing laps, lap times began to tumble. Nicole narrowly missed the opportunity to start one final flying lap 鈥 the chequered flag falling just seconds before she crossed the line, denying her a chance to reclaim pole. She was ultimately pipped by fellow 91传媒-supported Clubracer Motorsport, whose turbocharged Golf GTI took the top spot in the dying seconds.

鈥淒espite the disappointment, Nicole lined up P2 on the grid for the start of a race that was heavily impacted by the weather. The decision was made to start proceedings under the safety car due to standing water and visibility concerns.”

鈥淲hen racing got underway, Nicole held firm in second position, applying constant pressure to the leading Golf GTI throughout the opening laps. Her confidence and car control in the wet were on full display, especially in the corners where she was consistently closing in on the race leader. However, the superior straight-line power of the turbocharged GTI made it difficult to mount a serious overtaking attempt down Donington鈥檚 long straights.

鈥淭hen, disaster struck. On lap seven, as Nicole attacked the infamous Craner Curves, her car suddenly stepped out mid-corner and entered an uncontrollable slide. Despite her best efforts, the car veered off and made heavy contact with the tyre wall, bringing her race to a premature end and triggering a safety car.

鈥淭he incident marks the first time in over 2 seasons Nicole has failed to reach the podium, a hard pill to swallow for the fiercely competitive Irish driver.”

鈥淚鈥檝e never been caught out like that before, so it鈥檚 all very odd,鈥 Nicole said post-race. 鈥淚 felt so comfortable up to that point, so it鈥檚 a shock to the system to be honest. Even though I had the lead car under pressure, I just can鈥檛 quite understand how it all happened, it broke away so fast, I was a passenger at that point鈥 just gutted. It鈥檚 an unnecessary loss of points, and just something we didn鈥檛 need so close to the Oulton Park round, one I鈥檓 looking forward to so much. I鈥檓 incredibly lucky to have the best bunch of people around me who are there no matter what, and that means the world鈥攂ut this one鈥檚 a hard one to take.鈥

鈥淢otion Motorsport, who prepare Nicole鈥檚 car, will begin immediate repairs with the aim of having the car fully race-ready in time for Round 4 at Oulton Park in a few weeks鈥 time.

鈥淒espite the setback, Nicole remains focused and determined as the championship battle continues 鈥 and with her pace clearly among the best in the field, there鈥檚 no doubt she鈥檒l come back stronger.鈥

The Trackday Championship leader is racing in an EBC-clad Honda Civic Type R

After a comfortable win in the 2024 season, Nicole Drought is back competing in the MSVT Trackday Championship for 2025, continuing to run 91传媒 components in her Civic Type R.

A win in the first round at Snetterton helped state Drought鈥檚 intentions 鈥 a message that was continued during the second round at Silverstone鈥檚 GP circuit recently with another win.

Drought has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped her yield some great results in recent years.

You can hear how it all panned out in the team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥淎fter a triumphant victory in round one at Snetterton, where she secured pole position and clinched the fastest lap, Nicole entered round two brimming with confidence and ambition. Her dream was to win on the historic Silverstone GP circuit 鈥 a track that the MSVT roadshow had never raced on before in the TDC Championship.

鈥淒espite having only a 20-minute test session, Nicole’s skill and the reliability of her EBC Racing Honda Civic Type R earned her pole position for the afternoon’s TDC event. She shared the front row with fellow racer Matt Swaffer in his 3.0-litre BMW, setting the stage for an exhilarating race.”

鈥淭he race began with Swaffer taking the lead into turn one, but Nicole was relentless in her pursuit. She expertly manoeuvred through the Maggots and Becketts complex, overtaking Swaffer around Stowe on the opening lap. However, the excitement was momentarily halted by the deployment of the safety car due to a severe crash involving Charlie Palk and Jordan Honeybone. Fortunately, both drivers were unharmed, though their cars were not as lucky.

鈥淎fter three laps behind the safety car, the race resumed with Nicole and her Apollo big brake-equipped EBC Honda in the lead. She navigated the mandatory pit stops with precision, maintaining her position despite immense pressure from Swaffer’s BMW. Lapping traffic posed a minor challenge, but Nicole’s composure and skill allowed her to handle it effortlessly. She dealt with the slower, underpowered cars and parried all of Swaffer’s attempts to unsettle her performance.”

鈥淭he sight of the chequered flag was a triumphant end to the second race of the season, putting Nicole on maximum points for the overall Championship. Another perfect race day added to her impressive record.

鈥淣icole’s stellar performance is a testament to her high-level racing capabilities. It’s refreshing to see such a talented woman setting the benchmark in the TDC Championship. Since 2023, she has entered 11 rounds with the TDC and TDT, securing podium finishes at every event, solidifying her status as an exceptional racer and a formidable competitor in the championship.鈥

The race driver competes in the MSVT series in her Apollo Big Brake Kit-fitted Honda

Following a sensational overall win in the 2024 MSVT Trackday Championship, Irish race driver Nicole Drought recently unveiled a new 91传媒 livery on her EP3 Honda Civic Type R, which she鈥檒l use to defend her title in the 2025 season.

Drought has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped her yield some great results in recent years.

The first round of the 2025 season took the roadshow to Norfolk鈥檚 Snetteron Circuit, where Drought made her intentions for the year clear with an outright win, as well as fastest lap across the weekend.

You can hear how it all panned out in the team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥2024 Trackday Championship Champion Nicole Drought began her title defence in an exemplary fashion at Snetterton this weekend. By qualifying in pole position, setting the fastest lap, and securing victory in the opening race of the season, Nicole showcased her prowess and determination.

鈥淚n preparation for the race, Nicole collaborated with four-time BTCC Champion Colin Turkington during Friday’s testing session. This all-Irish partnership resulted in critical setup changes to her 91传媒 Honda Civic, enhancing its performance.

鈥淭he adjustments paid off during a closely contested qualifying session, where Nicole emerged in the vital pole position, ready to lead the 27-strong field.”

鈥淎s the lights changed, Nicole faced immediate competition from Matt Swaffer’s rear-wheel-drive BMW, which narrowly beat her off the line. However, a skilful manoeuvre out of the final corner allowed Nicole to pull ahead and slice down the inside at turn one, reclaiming the lead as they commenced the second lap. From this point, both drivers distanced themselves from the pack, with Nicole comfortably leading while vigilantly monitoring her mirrors.

鈥淯pon the opening of the pit stop window, the BMW opted for an earlier pit stop while Nicole maximised her stint on the track. When she eventually pitted and re-joined the race, the BMW challenged the Civic once more, heading towards turn one side by side. Nicole, holding her inside line decisively, retained her lead. Demonstrating her driving finesse, the Tipperary native steadily extended her advantage, ultimately crossing the finish line nearly four seconds ahead of the BMW, with the rest of the field trailed an additional 40 seconds behind.”

鈥淐olin Turkington, reflecting on the performance, remarked on the staggering braking capabilities of Nicole’s 91传媒 Honda Civic. He noted, “I was completely taken aback by just how good Nicole鈥檚 EBC Honda Civic was under braking. Snetterton has always been a great test circuit, so an ideal venue for me to fully understand the car鈥檚 capabilities. I immediately had confidence in the big brake zones, enabling me to push the limits and lower lap times with each session.鈥欌

鈥淣icole Drought’s exceptional start to the season sets a promising tone for her championship defence, demonstrating her skill, strategic acumen, and potential for continued success in the 2025 TDC Championship.

鈥淣icole Drought reflected on the weekend with great enthusiasm, stating: 鈥淧retty much the perfect start to the season. Everyone has worked so hard over the winter to ensure we hit the ground running. We struggled a little at Snetterton last year but a recent test at Oulton showed we had improved the car since then. It was great to work with Colin on Friday. He knows the track so well and the changes he made to the setup were great.鈥

“Big thanks, as ever to our sponsors and supporters; 91传媒, Siltex Safety, Gem Oils, Mondello Park, Joe Mallon Motors, ITM Digital and Roberts Air Conditioning for their support to make this all possible. Motion Motorsport were fantastic running the car faultlessly.鈥

Justin Roberts and Nicole Drought have been competing in MSVT鈥檚 Trackday Championship

Justin Roberts and Nicole Drought have been sharing the seat of their EP3 Honda Civic Type R race car this year in the MSVT Trackday Championship.

The duo has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped them yield some great results in recent years.

Accumulating some fantastic results throughout the year, the team headed to Kent鈥檚 Brands Hatch knowing they could secure the championship outright if they remained towards the front of the pack.

You can read how they got on in the team鈥檚 own words below.

鈥淎t Brands Hatch last weekend, Justin Roberts and Nicole Drought took a calculated approach to the final round of the strongly supported MSVR Trackday Championship at the wheel of their Apollo Big Brake-equipped Honda Civic Type R. Leading the championship since mid-season, the team were keen to score enough points to take the title but also fully aware that they needed to stay out of trouble on the short Brands Hatch Indy circuit.

鈥淎 number of safety car periods and the usual pit stop saw Nicole emerge in fourth place, but a race charge meant she closed the top three down in the latter stages of the race, before a late dive into Druids moved her to third. She crossed the line right with the two leaders, easily annexing enough points to ensure that her and Roberts were assured of the coveted 2024 title.鈥

Justin Roberts: “Big thanks to EBC for the support. I think we showed this year how good their products are. We were on the pace at every track, took four wins and finished on the podium at every race we competed in.”

It鈥檚 been another action-packed year for the team, as the team explains below in their 2024 season review鈥

鈥淲e took part in two main series this season 鈥 the BRSCC Supersport Endurance Championship in class 鈥楥lubman-A鈥, and the MSV Trackday Trophy in class B. We also had outings in the MSV Trackday Championship at Cadwell, which was abandoned to fog and Navarra in Spain where we podiumed (3rd in class), as well as a single round of the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy at Donington where we came 4th in class.鈥

BRSCC SuperSport Endurance Championship

  • Rounds participated in: 5
  • The first round of the season at Silverstone saw us qualify 5th in class, but feeling there was a lot more speed to come as we got to grips with the unfamiliar Silverstone International circuit. Unfortunately, the Civic had other ideas and cut out on the green flag lap to the grid and was classified as a DNF.
  • The next round was at Snetterton, a circuit we have gone well at in the past. Sure enough, both Phil and Jeremy set their fastest ever laps around the 300 layout, despite having to take some unusual lines around Coram and at the end of the Bentley Straight to avoid oil spillages. Finishing 2nd in class, just 40 seconds behind the class winner was a great result and kick started our class challenge. The big braking zones into the Wilson hairpin, the Brundle/Nelson chicane and the final Murrays tight left-hander are real tests for the car and where strong braking but a good pedal feel to avoid locking up is essential. Our 91传媒 Racing SR-11鈩 (front) and Bluestuff (rear) brake pad combo are perfect for this and help us keep our tyres intact through a long two-hour endurance race. Jeremy set his fastest lap in the last 10 minutes of the race, proving the benefit of a great braking setup.
  • At Croft Phil drove solo for the full two hours and had his work cut out, having never been to Croft before, and facing rainy conditions. The SR-11鈩 front pads proved their worth here, giving excellent feel in the conditions allowing Phil to find his rhythm and bring the Civic home P3 in class.
  • On to the Donington GP track for the next round where some suspiciously quick cars joined the class in the form of a TCR-esque Golf and a Lotus who were lapping a full 5-6 seconds a lap quicker than the Civic. Qualifying 4th in class, Phil and Jeremy were able to improve in the race to come home with another class podium in P3. This despite the loss of 3rd gear mid-way through the race! This meant leaning even harder on the EBC brake pads without the help of third gear to slow us down into the Fogarty Esses or the Melbourne Hairpin.
  • Our final round of this championship was at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit – a very busy place to be with 28 cars of varying lap times! Managing only 6th in a very congested qualifying session, Jeremy and Phil set about the race in hot temperatures aiming for consistency and reliability, something some other cars struggled with. It was enough to improve to P4 at the end and put us into P2 in class for the championship.
  • We were unable to run the car in the season finale at the Silverstone National circuit due to our imminent departure to Spain for another series, so Phil and son James debuted their Civic in the guest class. Had they run in class they would have finished P3 but the points didn鈥檛 count towards our championship. Luckily some of our regular competitors also didn鈥檛 make this round so we finished the season in P2 in class, a result the team is delighted with.

MSV Trackday Trophy

  • Round 1 was at Donington Park and it was an EBC Civic lockout with the Semprini EP3 coming in 2nd behind the similar EBC Civic of Justin Roberts and Nicole Draught. Jeremy and Nicole had a great battle in the early stages of the race before different strategies came into play around the safety cars. At the end it was the Roberts/Drought Civic 1st over the line with the Semprini Civic in 2nd.
  • The Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit was the venue for the next round, with Jeremy and Phil qualifying in P7 on a mega-competitive grid, just 1.1 seconds covering P1-P7. In the race the Civic was strangely off the pace resulting in a P6 finish, later attributed to the hot temperatures causing the engine management system to go into a more cautious mode. Post-race we made some changes to the air intake system and the problems didn鈥檛 return for the rest of the season.
  • The next round at Lydden Hill was eventful with torrential rain giving way to sunshine. Qualifying in P2, once again behind the Roberts/Drought EBC Civic, It was Jeremy who set off after the fast starting Justin for the first stint. Trading lap times the gap remained tantalisingly close before the mid-race driver changes. It was apparent straight away when Phil started his stint that the abrasive Lydden surface had taken its toll and the front right tyre burst, leaving Phil to limp back to the pits. A hasty tyre change got the Civic back out on track before the end of the race to claim 2nd in class.
  • On to Snetterton where an unfortunate misunderstanding with a backmarker resulted in an accident for Phil and a DNF for the Civic.
  • The season moved on to our first overseas event at the superb Navarra Circuit in Northern Spain where we took part in both the TDT and TDC races. The Navarra track is another where a great braking balance is essential with a big braking zone following the flat out turn 1 into turns 2 and the very tight turn 3. Then at the end of the back straight is another big braking zone and into the new hairpin installed just before we arrived 鈥 we were the first series to take part on the new circuit layout. The final corner is also a tight one, coming off a fast left hander into a tight, slow right turn onto the main straight. Our SR-11鈩/Bluestuff combo was superb again at getting the car slowed down and into the corners with great feel, avoiding lock ups and keeping the tyres on song.
  • In the TDC, race we placed 3rd in class resulting in a podium appearance being presented with our trophy and bottle of local Rioja by circuit owner and ex-Formula 1 driver Jonathan Palmer.
  • The TDT race was less successful as a power steering pipe popped off at the end of lap 2, dowsing the hot engine with fluid and resulting in a DNF.
  • The final race of the year was back at Brands Hatch on the Indy circuit and was something a little different for us as we ran both the blue Civic and Phil and James in their White Civic. Uniquely Phil was to drive both cars in the race so our pitstops were dictated by this rather than a more normal strategy! Sure enough, an early safety car was too soon for us so we stayed out, at one point having a 1-2 in the race before making our stops for Phil to hop out of the Blue Civic and hand over to Jeremy while awaiting James to stop in the white car so he could jump in. Although out of position, Jeremy had a very entertaining battle with class C champion Waynes Cockerill鈥檚 Toyota Celica with a pass into Druids made possible by leaning very heavily on the EBC combo to take a gap that looks to be closing, avoiding a lock up and passing successfully. A very entertaining race but with no trophies this time!

“Plans for 2025 are underway 鈥 we are coming back to the BRSCC Supersport Championship to see if we can go one better and win our class next year鈥”

The duo has been running an 91传媒 Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit for some time now, which was recently upgraded with the firm鈥檚 SR-11鈩 sintered endurance race pads 鈥 components which have helped them yield some great results in recent years.

Accumulating some fantastic results throughout the year, the team headed into the recent Cadwell Park round at the top of the pile. With the race abandoned before it even started thanks to heavy fog, this means the duo are still leading the series as it next heads to its guest international round.

You can read how they got in in the team鈥檚 own words below.

鈥淣icole Drought and Justin Roberts continue to head the TDC Championship after round 5 at Cadwell Park, was abandoned due to very heavy fog.

鈥淣icole and Justin had a very impressive test day the week prior to the Lincolnshire event, giving them both huge expectations for the race meeting.

鈥淚t started three hours later than scheduled, due to heavy fog settling in for the morning. As it lifted towards lunchtime, qualifying began, the EBC Honda Civic went straight to the top of the time sheet. With an interrupted session, Drought and Roberts would find themselves starting from pole position, for the second time this season.”

鈥淎s the cars lined up on the grid to take to the super-fast Cadwell circuit, again the fog came down before they could be released onto the green flag lap. MSVR organisers did everything they could to get the day flowing but unfortunately, it was just in the hands of the gods, with no other decision but to abandon the meeting.

鈥淛ustin said 鈥榓fter watching back a couple of qualifying laps, I can鈥檛 actually believe we were driving in those conditions; visibility was desperate and dangerous but you鈥檙e just trying to put a very fast time in no matter what. Nicole and I were extremely gutted the race didn鈥檛 go ahead as we were very hopeful of a strong result, but the MSV made the correct decision.鈥

鈥淭he duo next head off to Spain for the penultimate round, taking with them a strong 20-point championship lead. Circuito de Navarra will see several English championships head out there for the October meeting.鈥
