The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on EBC’s components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust 91´«Ã½ components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines – including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign and promising first round at Brands Hatch, we next caught up with the trio fresh from the second round at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park.

Read all about it in their own words below…

“Spiceboy Racing took on a stacked Championship Clubman 600 grid at Cadwell Park for Round 2 of the NGRRC season, delivering a weekend of close racing, big personal improvements, and hard-fought battles across the field. While Tim Petts led the charge at the front of the midfield, Jon Otter showed clear progression and Nev Otter dug deep through a challenging weekend.â€

Qualifying – Saturday

“After splitting test duties, Jon Otter carried strong momentum into the weekend – consistently improving on last year’s pace and banking PBs across sessions. Nev Otter, meanwhile, was left searching for answers, struggling to unlock pace – a theme that would continue.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P13 – 1:42.5 (PB)
Jon Otter (#103): P30 – 1:46.5
Nev Otter (#69): P34 – 1:47.6

“With a mixed grid across the team, all eyes turned to race day to see who could move forward.â€

Race One – Saturday

“Tim Petts launched straight into the fight at the sharp end of the midfield, getting a clean start and running with the front group before making decisive moves late on.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P9 – Top 10 finish | 1:41.3 (PB)

“Further back, Nev made early progress before a bold move into Mansfield didn’t quite come off, forcing him onto the grass and costing valuable ground.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P30

“Jon Otter focused on consistency, keeping things tidy and building a solid platform for the races ahead.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P32

Race Two – Sunday Morning

“Another strong launch from Tim saw him right in the mix again – this time even closer to the front.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P7 – 1:40.7 (PB, fastest lap of the weekend)

“Up to 6th into Turn 1 and running as high as 5th, Tim showed serious pace before arm pump set in late race. Even so, it was a standout result and a big step forward on the new bike.

“Behind, Nev absolutely rocketed off the line—gaining eight places on lap one—but couldn’t hold the momentum as the race unfolded.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P30

“Jon had a strong start but lost ground in the opening corners. From there, he regrouped and stayed right in the fight, finishing just behind Nev while setting a new personal best.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P31 – 1:45.5 (PB)

Race Three – Sunday Afternoon

“Starting P7, Tim dropped slightly at the start but stayed consistent, keeping himself firmly in the top 10 fight.â€

Tim Petts (#27): P10

“Further back, the father-son battle added extra spice. Jon had his sights set on finally getting one over Nev—but Nev had other ideas.â€

Nev Otter (#69): P19

“A much stronger ride saw Nev finally find some rhythm, charging up to 17th before just losing a couple of spots late on after a hard fight.â€

Jon Otter (#103): P25

“Jon delivered another solid performance, getting involved in multiple battles and coming out on top—continuing his steady progression and race craft development.â€

Weekend Summary

“A weekend of contrasts, but clear progress across the Spiceboy Racing team.

“Tim Petts led from the front with three top 10 finishes, the fastest lap of the weekend, and over 3 seconds improvement on last year’s pace—all while still adapting to his new machine.

“Jon Otter showed some of the biggest gains, consistently improving lap times and race craft, highlighted by multiple PBs and strong race consistency.

“Nev Otter endured a tougher weekend but showed resilience, with a strong recovery ride in Race Three proving the pace is still there when it clicks.â€

Tim Petts (#27):
“Mega weekend—really starting to click with the new weapon (aka Keith!). Big step forward in pace and great to be fighting at the front. Plenty more to come.â€

“With momentum building, valuable lessons learned, and pace improving across the board, Spiceboy Racing heads to the next round ready to push on.â€

Max Symonds uses 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in the British Superbike Championship’s National Superstock category for a number of years.

The rider, who also won Castle Combe Circuit’s NG Road Racing ‘King of Combe’ race in 2025, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade last year, continuing to use this bike and its 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs setup for the 2026 season.

Following some extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, we next caught up with Symonds after a stint of testing and another NG Road Racing weekend across April.

Read how the month panned out in his own words below…

Snetterton Test Day

“We started the month with a test day at Snetterton – my first laps of the circuit on the Fireblade. The main aim was to establish a solid base setting on the bike and get back up to speed around the track having not raced here last year.

“Strict noise limits on the day, combined with some changeable weather, meant we didn’t get as much time on track as we’d have liked. However, as the conditions improved towards the end of the afternoon we managed to put some good laps together and came away with a good setting for the race event back here later in the year.â€

Cadwell Park – NG Road Racing Round 2

“After taking four wins and setting a new lap record at round one, we decided to enter the second event of the NG Road Racing Season at Cadwell Park.

“Saturday was a solid start, qualifying second in both the Powerbike and Open classes and taking a pair of second-place finishes in the races. Overnight, we made some changes to the bike set-up and I worked on a few adjustments to my riding style. This made big improvements for Sunday as we went on to take two wins after some really close races and fast, consistent lap times.â€

Oulton Park – BSB Pre-Season Test

“Our first official BSB event of the year. Two full days on track gave us the chance to run through a wide range of set-up options and really get the bike working the way we want it to.

“I was happy to put in a new personal best lap time and to be lapping with pretty consistent pace throughout. The test was a lot of hard work with a total of 90 laps logged over the two days which was all worth it as the bike is starting to feel exactly how I want it and we left Oulton Park with a big smile on our faces.â€

Donington Park – Test Day

“Having missed the official BSB test there earlier in the month, it was important to get some laps in round here ahead of the race later in the season.

“Cold temperatures and high winds made the morning session tricky, but as the weather improved through the afternoon I was able to put in some strong lap times. We finished the day happy with the progress made and confident going into the start of the BSB season.â€

Oliver Charlesworth uses XC discs and GPFAX pads for his road racing campaigns

Experienced bike racer, Oliver Charlesworth, competes in a wide variety of prestigious road racing championships each year.

Charlesworth has recently upgraded to run 91´«Ã½â€™ XC discs and GPFAX pads on his Aprilia superbike, supplying him with promising results so far.

Next up was the Bob Smith Spring Cup at the iconic Oliver’s Mount road racing circuit in Scarborough, where Charlesworth came away with strong results and confidence brewing for the season ahead.

Read all about it in his own words below…

“A challenging but promising start to the season, with some clear positives to take away – especially in braking performance.

“After qualifying 7th on the Supersport grid, we showed strong potential in Race 2, moving up to 4th place early on. However, after a couple of moments in the opening laps, the decision was made to retire from the race. It was about the bigger picture – staying focused on the season ahead rather than taking unnecessary risks.”

“In the Supertwin class, we were consistently inside the top 15 and made steady progress across the weekend. The Aprilia 660 in particular is showing real promise heading forward.

“A big positive throughout was the performance of the 91´«Ã½Â package. On both bikes, the braking was strong, consistent, and gave the confidence to push: especially important around a circuit like Oliver’s Mount. It’s a solid step forward and something we’re excited to build on into 2026…â€

The rider relies on EBC XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on their race bikes

Following a season in NLR’s SuperTwins in 2025, as well as successes on the gruelling Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT races at the iconic Isle of Man mountain course, Russell Brook began his 2026 campaign by entering the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit.

Teaming up with Proudfoot Racing and entering in the National 600 Class for this race, Brook continued to use 91´«Ã½ Racing’s XC-Series discs and GPFAX pads on his Yamaha R6, achieving a class-podium finish.

You can read how it panned out in his own words below…

“This past weekend I joined ðð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ð ð‘ðšðœð¢ð§ð  for Round 2 of the ðð¨ ð‹ð¢ð¦ð¢ðð¬ ð‘ðšðœð¢ð§ð  ðŸ•ðŸ“ðŸŽð¤ð¦ ð„ð§ðð®ð«ðšð§ðœðž ð‚ð¡ðšð¦ð©ð¢ð¨ð§ð¬ð¡ð¢ð© ðšð ðƒð¨ð§ð¢ð§ð ðð¨ð§ ððšð«ð¤ ð†ð ðœið«ðœð®ð¢ð, teaming up with ð‰ð¨ð¬ð¡ ð©ð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ð and ð‰ð¨ðž ð„ð¥ð¥ð¢ð¬. At around five and a half hours long (or until the first bike completes 750km), it was a perfect opportunity to build race fitness, find some rhythm again, and get solid seat time. Huge thanks to the team for the invite and the trust they showed me—especially with ð‰ð¨ð¬ð¡ ðð«ð¨ð®ððŸð¨ð¨ðâ€™ð¬ ðœð«ðžð° ð¥ðžðšðð¢ð§ð  ðð¡ðž ððšðð¢ð¨ð§ðšð¥ ðŸ”ðŸŽðŸŽ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ heading into the round.

“The conditions couldn’t have been better, with sunshine throughout the weekend. Qualifying went smoothly, landing us ðŸ“ðð¡ ð¢ð§ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ ðšð§ð ðŸðŸ”ðð¡ ð¨ð¯ðžð«ðšð¥ð¥.

“The race itself had its challenges. A few red flags and safety car periods played against us, costing time as the field bunched up—but that’s endurance racing. Josh took the start, I handled the middle stints, and Joe closed out the race. Both Josh and Joe set an impressive pace, and I managed a couple of strong 40-minute sessions to support our charge. Thankfully, apart from the stoppages (and we hope everyone involved is okay), the event ran clean for us.

“After hours of consistent teamwork and focus, we crossed the line ðŸ‘ð«ð ð¢ð§ ðð¡ðž ððšðð¢ð¨ð§ðšð¥ ðŸ”ðŸŽðŸŽ ðœð¥ðšð¬ð¬ ðšð§ð ðŸðŸŽðð¡ ð¨ð¯ðžð«ðšð¥ð¥â€”a result the whole crew can be proud of. Endurance racing relies as much on those behind the wall as the riders themselves, so a massive thanks goes to Phil Proudfoot, Andy Read, and Nick Ellis for their sharp strategy, pit coordination, and relentless effort throughout the day.

“It’s been fantastic to race again alongside Josh and Joe, who have both progressed brilliantly into the BSB Sportbike Championship since we last shared a grid. Wishing them and the team the best of luck for Oulton Park BSB this coming weekend.

“Next up for me is Andy Read’s Honda K4 at Cadwell Park in May, followed by the Pre-TT Classic on the Billown Course.

“Finally, a huge thank-you to all our sponsors and supporters—your backing makes weekends like this possible.”

91´«Ã½ sponsors the British Army Motorcycle Road Race Team (AMRRT)

The British Army Motorcycle Road Race Team (AMRRT) is an exclusive racing club for all Army, RAF and Navy personnel.

Formed in 2010, the AMRRT is one of the largest teams in the British Army Motorsports Association. It encompasses two road tacing disciplines – sprints and endurance – with 21 full-time and reserve riders, plus support crew for 2026.

As well as its own dedicated championship – the Inter Services Road Race Championship – AMRRT also supports entrants to other national series, not least the BSB, where three riders will be competing throughout the year.

WO2 Watts will return to the highly contested National Superstock 1000 category, whilst Sgt Thomas and LCpl Large-Taylor will compete in the ultra-competitive SuperSport 600 Cup onboard a Triumph 765 and Yamaha R9 respectively.

All three will be using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX pads and X/XC discs to help them achieve the best results across the season.

We caught up with the team off the back of the official BSB testing day at Derbyshire’s Donington Park. You can hear how it went in their own words below…

“WO1 Gav Watts and SSgt Stephen Thomas continued their preparations for the upcoming British Superbike (BSB) season by attending the Official BSB Test at Donington Park on 3–4 April. Cold temperatures and strong winds made for challenging running throughout the two days.”

“Watts, who will be competing in his second season in the National Superstock 1000 class aboard his Honda Fireblade, used the test to focus on development rather than outright lap time. Reflecting on the event, he said: “The conditions have been extremely challenging due to the cold temperatures and very high winds. We didn’t concentrate on an outright fast lap, instead focusing on understanding the new data software and experimenting with different electronic and geometry setups. Overall, I’m pleased with the two days and now look forward to the second test at Oulton Park in a few weeks’ time.â€

“Thomas, who will contest the ultra‑competitive Supersport Cup in 2026 on his Triumph 765RS, echoed the importance of the test. After 5–6 months off the bike, the focus was on rebuilding confidence and ensuring the package was working correctly. He commented: “This test was important to get reacquainted with the team and the bike. Lap times were down across all classes due to the wind and low temperatures, but it was good to get some solid laps in alongside the riders I’ll be racing against this year.â€

The Astro-MAR HIPPO Suzuki outfit crossed the pond for the gruelling event

Front-running BSB Supersport team, Astro-MAR HIPPO Suzuki, recently took the annual pilgrimage to Florida’s Daytona International Speedway for the 200-mile Daytona 200 endurance race.

The trio of Suzuki GSXR-750 bikes all boast 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX brake pads and X-Series discs up front.

It was a rollercoaster of a weekend for the team, as you can read in their own words below…

“Just got back from Daytona; 20th out of 44 wasn’t quite what we were hoping for, but a hell of a place and very good experience for a serious tilt at next year. We had top-10 pace all weekend but a technical mistake from the American fuelling crew meant we had to take six additional stops, which put us too far behind to be in contention.

“The pads and discs worked well and no complaints from our American rider; we got through four sets in the weekend plus one set in the pre-test… stopping from 182mph takes its toll!”

“In the words of Arnie, we’ll be back.

“Daytona is bike racing-meets-caberet, and a whole lot of fun. From arriving on the Thursday to leaving on the Sunday, we laughed and cried in equal measures.

“Our little team qualified 14th and had genuine top-10 pace until a fuel tank malfunction that was nothing to do with the team caused us to take three extra fuel stops over the normal expectation.

“So, finishing 20th might not look as fantastic as hoped, but a small private team took on the might of Daytona and finished. The brakes were flawless and our American rider has now changed from his existing supplier to 91´«Ã½.â€

The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on EBC’s components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the HM Racing Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust 91´«Ã½ components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines – including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign, we next caught up with the trio as they completed their first round of the season at Kent’s Brands Hatch circuit – a weekend that delivered great promise for the season ahead.

Read all about it in their own words below…

“Spiceboy Racing kicked off its 2026 campaign at Brands Hatch Indy for Round 15 of the North Gloucester Road Racing Club (NGRRC) championship, delivering a weekend of close racing, consistent progress, and multiple personal best performances in a highly competitive Clubman 600 field of 37 riders.â€

Qualifying – Saturday Morning

In dry and sunny conditions, all three Spiceboy Racing riders secured solid grid positions in a tightly packed field:

  • Nev Otter (#69): P17
  • Tim Petts (#27): P18
  • Jon Otter (#103): P29

With minimal lap time differences across the grid, the stage was set for a closely contested weekend.

Race One – Saturday Afternoon

The opening race of the season saw Spiceboy Racing teammates Nev Otter and Tim Petts immediately resume their close on-track battles. The pair fought throughout the race, with the outcome decided only on the final corner.

  • Tim Petts (#27): P11 – an impressive debut result on his new machine and a highlight of his weekend
  • Nev Otter (#69): P13

Jon Otter delivered a strong and confident performance, gaining five positions and showing a marked improvement in pace:

  • Jon Otter (#103): P24 (+5 positions)

Race Two – Sunday Morning

  • Nev Otter (#69): Finished close behind in another competitive showing
  • Jon Otter (#103): P25 (from P24), continuing to build consistency and racecraft

  • Tim Petts (#27): P13, maintaining consistent front-midfield pace
  • Jon Otter (#103): P22, recording a standout personal best lap over 2.5 seconds quicker than his previous best at Brands Hatch

Weekend Summary

“Spiceboy Racing leaves Brands Hatch with a highly encouraging start to the 2026 season. Competing in a large and competitive field, all three riders demonstrated consistent pace, race-long battles, and clear progression across the weekend.

“Tim Petts impressed with a near top-10 finish and strong adaptation to his new bike, while Nev Otter delivered consistent results and secured a personal best in the final race. Jon Otter showed significant development, gaining positions and achieving substantial improvements in lap times.â€

Nev Otter added: “A really strong weekend for the team. The competition was tough, but we did ourselves proud—three riders, three PBs, and plenty of close racing. All the action is up on our YouTube channel.â€

“With multiple personal bests, strong midfield competitiveness, and valuable early-season momentum, Spiceboy Racing looks ahead to the next round with confidence.â€
