The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on EBC鈥檚 components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust 91传媒 components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines 鈥 including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign and promising first round at Brands Hatch, we next caught up with the trio fresh from the second round at Lincolnshire鈥檚 Cadwell Park.

Read all about it in their own words below鈥

鈥淪piceboy Racing took on a stacked Championship Clubman 600 grid at Cadwell Park for Round 2 of the NGRRC season, delivering a weekend of close racing, big personal improvements, and hard-fought battles across the field. While Tim Petts led the charge at the front of the midfield, Jon Otter showed clear progression and Nev Otter dug deep through a challenging weekend.鈥

Qualifying 鈥 Saturday

After splitting test duties, Jon Otter carried strong momentum into the weekend 鈥撀燾onsistently improving on last year鈥檚 pace and banking PBs across sessions. Nev Otter, meanwhile, was left searching for answers, struggling to unlock pace 鈥 a theme that would continue.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P13 鈥 1:42.5 (PB)
Jon Otter (#103): P30 鈥 1:46.5
Nev Otter (#69): P34 鈥 1:47.6

鈥淲ith a mixed grid across the team, all eyes turned to race day to see who could move forward.鈥

Race One 鈥 Saturday

鈥淭im Petts launched straight into the fight at the sharp end of the midfield, getting a clean start and running with the front group before making decisive moves late on.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P9 鈥 Top 10 finish | 1:41.3 (PB)

鈥淔urther back, Nev made early progress before a bold move into Mansfield didn鈥檛 quite come off, forcing him onto the grass and costing valuable ground.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P30

鈥淛on Otter focused on consistency, keeping things tidy and building a solid platform for the races ahead.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P32

Race Two 鈥 Sunday Morning

鈥淎nother strong launch from Tim saw him right in the mix again 鈥 this time even closer to the front.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P7 鈥 1:40.7 (PB, fastest lap of the weekend)

鈥淯p to 6th into Turn 1 and running as high as 5th, Tim showed serious pace before arm pump set in late race. Even so, it was a standout result and a big step forward on the new bike.

鈥淏ehind, Nev absolutely rocketed off the line鈥攇aining eight places on lap one鈥攂ut couldn鈥檛 hold the momentum as the race unfolded.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P30

鈥淛on had a strong start but lost ground in the opening corners. From there, he regrouped and stayed right in the fight, finishing just behind Nev while setting a new personal best.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P31 鈥 1:45.5 (PB)

Race Three 鈥 Sunday Afternoon

鈥淪tarting P7, Tim dropped slightly at the start but stayed consistent, keeping himself firmly in the top 10 fight.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P10

鈥淔urther back, the father-son battle added extra spice. Jon had his sights set on finally getting one over Nev鈥攂ut Nev had other ideas.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P19

鈥淎 much stronger ride saw Nev finally find some rhythm, charging up to 17th before just losing a couple of spots late on after a hard fight.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P25

鈥淛on delivered another solid performance, getting involved in multiple battles and coming out on top鈥攃ontinuing his steady progression and race craft development.鈥

Weekend Summary

鈥淎 weekend of contrasts, but clear progress across the Spiceboy Racing team.

鈥淭im Petts led from the front with three top 10 finishes, the fastest lap of the weekend, and over 3 seconds improvement on last year鈥檚 pace鈥攁ll while still adapting to his new machine.

鈥淛on Otter showed some of the biggest gains, consistently improving lap times and race craft, highlighted by multiple PBs and strong race consistency.

鈥淣ev Otter endured a tougher weekend but showed resilience, with a strong recovery ride in Race Three proving the pace is still there when it clicks.鈥

Tim Petts (#27):
鈥淢ega weekend鈥攔eally starting to click with the new weapon (aka Keith!). Big step forward in pace and great to be fighting at the front. Plenty more to come.鈥

鈥淲ith momentum building, valuable lessons learned, and pace improving across the board, Spiceboy Racing heads to the next round ready to push on.鈥

Max Symonds uses 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in the British Superbike Championship鈥檚 National Superstock category for a number of years.

The rider, who also聽won Castle Combe Circuit鈥檚 NG Road Racing 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 race in 2025, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade last year, continuing to use this bike and its 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs setup for the 2026 season.

Following some聽extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, we next caught up with Symonds after a stint of testing and another NG Road Racing weekend across April.

Read how the month panned out in his own words below鈥

Snetterton Test Day

鈥淲e started the month with a test day at Snetterton 鈥 my first laps of the circuit on the Fireblade. The main aim was to establish a solid base setting on the bike and get back up to speed around the track having not raced here last year.

鈥淪trict noise limits on the day, combined with some changeable weather, meant we didn’t get as much time on track as we’d have liked. However, as the conditions improved towards the end of the afternoon we managed to put some good laps together and came away with a good setting for the race event back here later in the year.鈥

Cadwell Park 鈥 NG Road Racing Round 2

鈥淎fter taking four wins and setting a new lap record at round one, we decided to enter the second event of the NG Road Racing Season at Cadwell Park.

鈥淪aturday was a solid start, qualifying second in both the Powerbike and Open classes and taking a pair of second-place finishes in the races. Overnight, we made some changes to the bike set-up and I worked on a few adjustments to my riding style. This made big improvements for Sunday as we went on to take two wins after some really close races and fast, consistent lap times.鈥

Oulton Park 鈥 BSB Pre-Season Test

鈥淥ur first official BSB event of the year. Two full days on track gave us the chance to run through a wide range of set-up options and really get the bike working the way we want it to.

鈥淚 was happy to put in a new personal best lap time and to be lapping with pretty consistent pace throughout. The test was a lot of hard work with a total of 90 laps logged over the two days which was all worth it as the bike is starting to feel exactly how I want it and we left Oulton Park with a big smile on our faces.鈥

Donington Park 鈥 Test Day

鈥淗aving missed the official BSB test there earlier in the month, it was important to get some laps in round here ahead of the race later in the season.

鈥淐old temperatures and high winds made the morning session tricky, but as the weather improved through the afternoon I was able to put in some strong lap times. We finished the day happy with the progress made and confident going into the start of the BSB season.鈥

  • Nev Otter (#69): P17
  • Tim Petts (#27): P18
  • Jon Otter (#103): P29

With minimal lap time differences across the grid, the stage was set for a closely contested weekend.

Race One 鈥 Saturday Afternoon

The opening race of the season saw Spiceboy Racing teammates Nev Otter and Tim Petts immediately resume their close on-track battles. The pair fought throughout the race, with the outcome decided only on the final corner.

  • Tim Petts (#27): P11 鈥 an impressive debut result on his new machine and a highlight of his weekend
  • Nev Otter (#69): P13

Jon Otter delivered a strong and confident performance, gaining five positions and showing a marked improvement in pace:

  • Jon Otter (#103): P24 (+5 positions)

Race Two 鈥 Sunday Morning

Race Two continued the theme of tight midfield competition, with riders battling in closely matched groups throughout.

  • Tim Petts (#27): P14 (from P11), setting a new personal best lap time
  • Nev Otter (#69): Finished close behind in another competitive showing
  • Jon Otter (#103): P25 (from P24), continuing to build consistency and racecraft

Race Three 鈥 Sunday Afternoon

The final race of the weekend saw further progress across the Spiceboy Racing team, with all riders delivering strong performances.

  • Nev Otter (#69): P12, achieving a new personal best
  • Tim Petts (#27): P13, maintaining consistent front-midfield pace
  • Jon Otter (#103): P22, recording a standout personal best lap over 2.5 seconds quicker than his previous best at Brands Hatch

Weekend Summary

鈥淪piceboy Racing leaves Brands Hatch with a highly encouraging start to the 2026 season. Competing in a large and competitive field, all three riders demonstrated consistent pace, race-long battles, and clear progression across the weekend.

“Tim Petts impressed with a near top-10 finish and strong adaptation to his new bike, while Nev Otter delivered consistent results and secured a personal best in the final race. Jon Otter showed significant development, gaining positions and achieving substantial improvements in lap times.鈥

Nev Otter added: 鈥淎 really strong weekend for the team. The competition was tough, but we did ourselves proud鈥攖hree riders, three PBs, and plenty of close racing. All the action is up on our YouTube channel.鈥

鈥淲ith multiple personal bests, strong midfield competitiveness, and valuable early-season momentum, Spiceboy Racing looks ahead to the next round with confidence.鈥

Following some extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe, we next caught up with Symonds after his first race of the year 鈥 an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch 鈥 ahead of his BSB season start.

Here, Symonds dominated in the Powerbike and Open classes, as you can read below in his team鈥檚 own words鈥

鈥淪ymonds Racing enjoyed a highly successful outing at the NG Road Racing season opener at Brands Hatch, delivering a dominant performance across both the Powerbike and Open classes.

鈥淢ax qualified on pole position in both categories, went on to win all four races he entered, and broke both class lap records including setting a new outright NG lap record at Brands Hatch Indy in the process,鈥 his team explains.

鈥淲ith the British Superbike season still a few weeks away, we decided to enter round one of the NG Road Racing championship to gain valuable track time.

鈥淔riday鈥檚 test day was especially useful, with lots of track sessions allowing us to test new rear suspension components and a find a good direction for the season ahead.

鈥淪aturday started with qualifying sessions for both classes, where I was able to put the bike on pole in each with some strong laps.

鈥淯nfortunately, due to some work that needed doing on the bike between sessions, we decided to sit out the first Open race to make sure everything was 100% ready. With no championship points on the line, it made sense not to take any unnecessary risks.

鈥淚 got back out in the first Powerbike race and managed to take a lights to flag victory, setting a new lap record of 47.2 seconds along the way.”

鈥淪unday morning鈥檚 second Open race was a bit more of a challenge, starting from the back of the grid after missing Saturday鈥檚 race. This meant a pretty hectic start to the race as I worked my way through from 34th to the lead by lap eight. Once I hit the front I was then able to pull out a gap and take the win by a couple of seconds.

鈥淪tarting from pole again in the next Powerbike race, I made the most of the clear track ahead and really pushed on putting together a strong run of laps under my previous best. By lap 5 I had set a new lap record of 46.7 seconds 鈥 half a second quicker than the day before.

鈥淚n the final Open race of the weekend, I had a bit of a moment coming out of turn one, but was able to regroup and control the race from the front to take another win, along with a new class lap record of 47.0 seconds.

鈥淗aving achieved everything we wanted from the weekend, we decided to sit out the final Powerbike race, saving tyres and ending the weekend on a high.

鈥淥verall, the weekend couldn鈥檛 have gone better, we made lots of progress with the bike set-up and came away with a load of wins and laps records!鈥

Following some great rides towards the back end of 2025, Symonds has since been busy testing for another busy summer of racing ahead, laying down rubber at three tracks across Europe recently.

Read his thoughts on testing and the year ahead in his own words below鈥

鈥淭he 2026 pre-season has been all about putting in lots of laps, learning as much as possible, and building momentum for the year ahead. Lots of time on track at 笔辞谤迟颈尘茫辞, Almer铆a and Castle Combe 鈥 three totally different tracks 鈥 have all helped me and the team step things up in different ways.鈥

笔辞谤迟颈尘茫辞

鈥淲e kicked things off at the awesome 笔辞谤迟颈尘茫辞 circuit that has everything from blind crests and heavy braking sections to big drops super high speed corners. To go fast here you鈥檝e got to commit everywhere.

鈥淚t ended up being a really fun and productive weekend from the first session right through to the last. From the first session out, things just started clicking and we kept building from there. Being away from a race event meant I could enjoy riding the bike without any pressure and have the opportunity to try different things with my riding style and position on the bike that I would not normally have the time to do.

鈥淚 managed to put in a new PB too, which was a bonus but the bigger win was the progress made with my riding.鈥

Almeria

鈥淣ext up was Almeria. A tight, technical track with not much time to breathe. With five days on track, this one was all about getting my head down and putting the laps in.

鈥淚 had a plan in mind to make the most of the track time we had which started out with just doing lots and lots on laps using hard tyres that would last the distance. This allowed me to learn the track, understand how to ride around the lack of grip that came with harder compound tyres, and work more on my riding style on the bike. The second half of the test was all about starting to try different electronic settings to understand what different changes felt like, what suited my riding style and what didn鈥檛, and what I would need to test further back in the UK. The Final runs of the test were about putting in some real fast laps, despite some high winds I improved my lap time by almost a second to be the fastest rider in the test out of about 135 people.鈥

Castle Combe

鈥淟ast stop was Castle Combe Circuit. It was bright and sunny, but absolutely freezing. Even so, we managed to get some really solid laps in and worked through a busy program of electronic setups with the traction control, anti-wheel, power modes, and engine braking.

鈥淒espite the colder weather it felt great to be back at Combe. There鈥檚 something about riding at my home track that hits a bit different, especially right before the season starts. We ended the day and finished off this run of testing with lots more learnt about the bike 鈥ot quite time to go BSB racing just yet as for some extra testing in March I will be joining NG Road Racing, my old club, for their pre-season test day at Castle Combe and first round of racing at Brands Hatch.鈥

Sam Preston takes his EP3 Honda Civic Type R on various track days throughout each year

Following multiple successful track days around the UK with his Apollo big brake kit-adorned Civic Type R, we recently caught up with Sam Preston once again following a mammoth trip to the N眉rburgring and Spa in his heavily modified vehicle.

Sam was previously running Yellowstuff pads on his four-piston setup, as the car was still being used on the road occasionally, but he鈥檚 now enhanced his Honda further so it鈥檚 predominantly a track day machine.

Because of this, he swapped out to 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 RP-X鈩 track/motorsport brake pads once he arrived at each of these European track days 鈥 noting how the improved bite helped match the other recent upgrades he鈥檚 performed to his car.

You can read how it panned out in his own words below鈥

鈥淚鈥檝e just returned from back-to-back track days on the N眉rburgring Nordschleife and Spa-Francorchamps.

鈥淲ith the car now running the likes of an LSD, semi-slick tyres, a full Milltek exhaust system and some other breathing mods, the upgrade to RP-X鈩 pads on my Apollo big brake kit has proven to be very impressive 鈥 especially as both circuits remained mainly dry each day!”

鈥淚 didn鈥檛 think the big brake kit could get any better when I was running Yellowstuff pads, but the RP-X鈩 pads are on another level. The braking performance is predictable and completely consistent, event after multiple laps of the Nordschleife back-to-back.

鈥淗aving confidence in the brakes really is one of the most important factors of getting the most out of a track day, and something people often overlook. Thankfully it鈥檚 not something I ever have to think about now with this setup.鈥

Rob Lewis entrusts EBC braking components in his Ford Focus ST170

For the 2025 season, Rob Lewis once again competed in the Modified Ford Series in his Mk1 Ford Focus ST170 (Class B).

Lewis has successfully campaigned within this championship for some years now, entrusting 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 RP-X鈩 motorsport brake pads for the front axle of his race car, and 91传媒鈥 Bluestuff NDX pads on the rear axle throughout this time.

After catching up with Lewis after the first few rounds of the year, where car and driver had both been performing well and secured some class podiums, we next caught up with Rob after the final rounds of the season at Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch, where more podiums were clinched.

You can read how these two weekends panned out for Rob in his own words below鈥

Cadwell Park

鈥淚 arrived at Cadwell Park with a nervous energy; I had never set a tyre on the circuit before in any form, so it was always a case of learning and getting better. We also debuted a new greener look to the car to change it up slightly 鈥撀爄t certainly was more noticeable!

鈥淨ualifying saw some beautiful track conditions and, as I heading out, I felt at home almost instantly. Getting quicker, I managed to sneak in the top 15 overall and 5th in my class, the car itself felt superb and the stopping power of the RP-X鈩 pads meant I had the confidence into the harder hairpin turns around the mountain. Game on!”

鈥淩ace 1: a good start on a tight grid meant the first few laps were a case of trying to find room to get into a flow and progress up the field. After the field had spread itself out more, the lap times quickly came tumbling down and I shaved a whopping two seconds off my qualifying time. The class podium was a realistic target and after dispatching the Mk1 Escort of Gary Johnson, I got my head down and worked on holding 3rd in class and a bank of points involved鈥 My only problem was the turbo Puma catching me that wanted the same podium spot! Lap after lap of defensive driving in my most vulnerable areas and utilising my superior braking performance meant when the flag came it was a podium for me once again! 3rd in Class and 11th overall on my first race EVER at Cadwell Park.听

鈥淩ace 2: after a driveshaft change overnight (a weak point on this setup this year) I started race 2 with even more confidence and quickly moved inside the top 10 and 2nd in class, Hot on the heels of Chris Baker, I got past on lap 3 and got my head down aiming for a class win into the 1:40.1 lap time. Then, it all came tumbling down: as I rode the kerb over Chris Curve, it ripped the boost pipe off and that was the race done. Gutted! We go again鈥︹

Brands Hatch

鈥淏rands Hatch is always the highlight meeting for the year in the Modified Fords series, with crowds of 15,000 celebrating all things 鈥榖lue oval鈥 as part of the Ford Power Live show. A grid walk allowed people to get close to the race cars and I had a lot of interest in my car in particular. Testing went okay but by the time we went out for qualifying, I knew the car was getting tired from a hard season鈥檚 racing: a failed connector pin had made sure I didn鈥檛 get a lap in qualifying which was really frustrating. Starting from the back of the grid, I made up a lot of spaces and was quickly battling my class competitors for the podium once again. Iain Blackley鈥檚 Puma was in 3rd and as he made a mistake coming out of McLaren, I looked to capitalise… Just as cylinder 4 dropped. Coil failure. Once again, a great result slipped through due to mechanical issue.”

鈥淭hen came race 2. Once again starting from the rear of the grid, I made my way through the field and onto the rear of Ian Blackley鈥檚 Puma once more. The handling characteristics of the cars are the same, but I found once again that under brakes, I had a significant advantage. The only problem with all of this was that Ian was driving a consummate defensive race. My final chance came on the last lap of the race. Using the superior braking advantage, I hung around the outside of the Puma at Druids and got the inside line for Graham Hill Bend… Podium once again! And retribution for a difficult start to the weekend.鈥

True Heroes Racing is a motorcycle racing outfit supporting riders in various race series across the UK.

Priding itself on being the UK’s first and only not-for-profit motorcycle race team dedicated to supporting wounded, injured and sick UK Armed Forces personnel and veterans, the team helps to engage, empower and inspire.

All riders are currently using 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX race pads and XC floating discs, and you can read a season round-up in the team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥淎s the 2025 season draws to a close, we鈥檙e proud to share a look back at what has been a transformative and inspiring year for True Heroes Racing 鈥 a season filled with growth and gratitude.

鈥淲e began the 2025 season with a bold and symbolic shift 鈥 moving away from Ducati machinery after a decade-long partnership and stepping into a new era with Honda. This transition wasn鈥檛 just about changing bikes; it was about embracing a fresh challenge and continuing to evolve as a team.

鈥淎t the same time, our presence in the ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup also evolved with Leon Wilton, who had previously represented us on the Ducati platform, took on a new challenge with a totally different type of machine. We were proud to welcome Corporal Kenny Macleod to the team 鈥 an active RAF serviceman and passionate racer 鈥 who joined us through our ongoing collaboration with military motorsport associations. His arrival not only strengthened our rider lineup but also reinforced our mission to provide meaningful opportunities for our beneficiaries.”

鈥淯nfortunately, early in the season, we experienced a change of rider in our Superstock line-up. While this could have left us without a rider at a critical point in the year, the strength and depth of our team 鈥 both past and present 鈥 quickly came to the fore.

鈥淩ather than scrambling for external replacements, two of our former riders stepped up without hesitation. Dave 鈥淪alty鈥 Sellers and Dave 鈥楽crawn鈥 Mackay, both of whom had previously raced for us on the Ducati and Suzuki platforms, returned to the fold as wildcards. Their willingness to jump back in and represent the team not only ensured we remained competitive but also demonstrated the enduring loyalty and camaraderie that defines True Heroes Racing.”

鈥淟ater in the year, when both Daves were unavailable, we welcomed Paul Cunvin, a Royal Airforce veteran, who took on the Honda ride. Initially joining us to get a feel for the team environment, Paul quickly proved himself a capable and聽committed addition, stepping into the role with confidence and professionalism.

鈥淟ooking ahead to the 2026 season, True Heroes Racing is proud to continue growing as more people reach out for support and opportunities to be part of our mission. The team has confirmed its rider line-up for the season, and it reflects both continuity and exciting new chapters.”

鈥淚n the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship, we鈥檒l see Charlie White return to the grid, now joined by Paul Cunvin, a Royal Airforce veteran who made his debut with us in 2025.

鈥淚n the ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup, both Leon Wilton and Cpl Kenny Macleod will return to the grid, bringing consistency, experience and a shared commitment to pushing themselves and the team forward.

鈥淏ut perhaps the most powerful story of the season will be that of Chris, our inaugural Grassroots Pathway rider and a veteran of the Parachute Regiment. After competing in the Clubman 600 and Phoenix Open classes, Chris is now stepping up to the British Superbike Championship grid in the ROKiT OFF BMW F900R Cup 鈥 a remarkable achievement in itself.鈥

Max Symonds uses 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in another season in the British Superbike Championship鈥檚 National Superstock category.

The rider, who also won Castle Combe Circuit鈥檚 NG Road Racing 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 race this year, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade for 2025, continuing to use 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs to provide the stopping power.

With great results achieved at聽the most recent Cadwell Park round of BSB聽(after Symonds returned to the saddle following an ankle injury which put him out of action over the summer months), Symonds ended the year on a high at the final round at Kent鈥檚 Brands Hatch Circuit.

Read more about the weekend in his team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥淪ymonds Racing wrapped up the BSB season on a high, securing multiple points finishes, continuing the momentum since my return from injury. The team鈥檚 hard work throughout the season culminated in a strong performance at the final round at Brands Hatch.

鈥淭he Donington and Oulton Park rounds proved challenging for me, as I鈥檇 missed both the pre-season test and the early-season races at those circuits. Despite the limited track time, we quickly found a competitive setup and showed impressive pace. Unfortunately, being forced off track during the race at Donington Park and then failing to complete a lap in qualifying at Oulton Park 鈥 due to bike issues and the session being cut short 鈥 meant I had to start from the back of the grid, which ended any real chance of standout results.”

鈥淏rands Hatch was a completely different story. Having visited the circuit earlier in the season for my first ride back after injury, we arrived with a solid base setup and I had valuable recent on-track experience. That allowed us to hit the ground running and show strong pace throughout practice and qualifying.

鈥淪aturday featured two 12-lap races where I delivered solid performances, finishing 14th and 15th. My best lap of 1:27.6 was over a second quicker than my previous personal best at the circuit.

鈥淚 felt great on the bike all weekend and was really pleased we were able to make the most of riding here earlier in the year. Both races were great results and could have been even better if not for a safety car in the first race and a red flag in the second, which slowed my progress further up the results sheet.”

鈥淪unday brought new challenges, with heavy rain and strong winds making for tricky conditions. Starting from P14, I was pushed back on the opening lap and then took a few laps to adjust to the wet conditions with it being my first rain race in a couple of years. Once I found my rhythm, I started picking riders off one by one to finish 16th, just narrowly missing out on a third consecutive points result.

鈥淥verall, Brands Hatch was the strongest round of the BSB season for me and the team. It really showcased the pace we would have been capable of throughout the year, had it not been for the extended injury layoff at the start of the season. With the season now concluded, we鈥檒l take a short break to rest and reset before heading to 笔辞谤迟颈尘茫辞 at the end of November for pre-season testing ahead of 2026.鈥

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in another season in the British Superbike Championship鈥檚 National Superstock category.

With great results achieved at the most recent Cadwell Park round of BSB (after Symonds returned to the saddle following an ankle injury which put him out of action over the summer months), Max took a break from the series to return to his home circuit of Castle Combe for a very special one-off race weekend.

Here, he was pleased to once again secure 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 status after some fantastic riding across the two days.

Read more about the weekend in his team鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥淢ax Symonds and his team rose to the challenge at the recent Motorcycle National by NG Road Racing event at Castle Combe Circuit, claiming the coveted 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 title for the third time, following previous wins in 2022 and 2023.

鈥淭he 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 crown is decided over a single weekend, consisting of one qualifying session and three races. The rider with the best overall results across the races takes home the title.

鈥淎s a local favourite and previous two-time winner of the event, Max entered the weekend as the rider to beat. However, the competition was fierce, with several British Superbike Championship riders also in contention.”

鈥淢ax made an impressive start, securing pole position and winning Race 1 on Saturday by more than six seconds.”

Max Symonds: 鈥淚 made the most of starting at the front, got away well, and put in some fast laps to build up a gap to the riders behind,鈥 Max said. 鈥淎fter that, I kept an eye on my pit board to manage the gap and bring it home. Despite being able to build up a good lead, the bike felt quite hard to ride with the rear tyre sliding a lot under acceleration so we had some work to do overnight to improve the set-up for Sunday.鈥

鈥淪unday brought new challenges, with temperatures dropping sharply and the colder track reducing grip levels.

鈥淚n Sunday鈥檚 first race, Max made another strong start, immediately pulling a gap from the pack. Unfortunately, the race was red-flagged due to a crash, forcing a restart. In the rerun, Max faced closer pressure from the chasing riders, but once his tyres reached temperature, he delivered a series of fast laps to stretch his lead and take his second win of the weekend.”

鈥淗eading into the final race, Max stuck to his proven strategy: warm up the tyres, push hard early to build a gap, then manage the pace to the finish. The plan worked perfectly and he once again pulled away from the field and took the win.

鈥淲ith that, Max was crowned King of Combe for the third time in dominant style with pole position, three wins out of three, and the fastest lap of the weekend.鈥
