The racer relies on EBC鈥檚 Green kart pads and BF005.1 silicone fluid
Kart racer Marcus Hudson is once again relying on 91传媒鈥 components to help him with his Northern Karting Federation Super 4 British Championship campaign for another year.
Hudson chooses EBC鈥檚 Green kart pads and BF005.1 silicone fluid for his fiery ABKC 250cc National kart.
His most recent outing took him to Hunts Kart Racing Club, Kimbolton (Huntingdon), where Hudson achieved some more impressive results to add to his points haul so far.
You can read more about his weekend in his own words below.
Heat 1 (grid: 11th)
鈥淲e made up two positions going into the first corner (Stow), but were on the outside and got hung out on the outside through the Willows, dropping down a position. As I was heading down the back straight I was up to 10th. On lap two, I passed the ninth-position driver going into Kimbolton corner. On the following lap, I was on the tail of eight and passed him straight away heading into Stow corner and slowed down on the apex to stop them from re-overtaking. The gap stayed the same to seventh, I couldn’t catch them but they were not pulling away from me. I finished just over three seconds from ninth. I wasn’t happy with the speed of the kart down the back straight so in the paddock between heat 1 and heat 2 we changed the gearing to see if this would help.鈥
Heat 2聽(grid: 9th)
鈥淲e started in a good battle with six karts from fifth place to 10th, with myself in ninth place there was only 1.6 seconds between all of us. Places were changing every lap and on lap 7, it was my turn to do some overtaking and I made the pass up to eighth going into Stow corner. For the remainder of the race, I tried my best but just couldn’t get past seventh, he just got me by 0.6 seconds. The gearing did help us with more speed down the back straight so was pleased that changing it worked.鈥
Heat 3聽(grid: 2nd)
鈥淲e held second place for the first half of the race and were overtaken by last year鈥檚 champion. Then a couple of laps later I was down to fourth. I made a mistake going into Stow and lost a place which I was then hung out and couldn鈥檛 get back in resulting in another place being lost. We finished in sixth place.鈥
Final (grid: 7th)
鈥淲e started seventh on the grid but in Stow corner lost a position. On lap 4, we moved back up to seventh. I was quicker than sixth and after being stuck behind him for three laps, I made a move聽into the first corner (Stow) and as he slightly went into the corner too quick he pushed wide and I cut back underneath him and made the pass coming out of the corner. After I made the pass, I pulled away but two laps later on lap 9 the kart was making a weird noise when cornering. I retired the kart returning to the pits and found that the rear engine mount bolt had snapped, causing the engine to move. After a race of attrition, we finished 10th.
鈥淚t was frustrating to have a DNF in the final when running sixth, but it was the first DNF of the season.聽
鈥淣ext stop is my home circuit 鈥 Fulbeck 鈥 for the final round of the British Championship聽on October 21st/22nd 鈥 the last time out there we had a win so that鈥檚 what we鈥檒l be trying to repeat.
