鈥淭he Ahuja Racing team finished the Baja Extremadura with a double podium thanks to the 91传媒 compounds!

鈥淲e are pleased to announce that the team, sponsored by EBC Frenos, has concluded its participation in Baja Extremadura with outstanding results and a very positive experience. This was the team鈥檚 first test scoring for the European Baja Championship, also counting on its new addition: Fausto Mota.

鈥淭he prologue stage left the team in great spirits; it was the first timed section that Fidel Castillo Ruiz and Fausto Mota did together, achieving a second position in the Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship (CERTT) and a third in the European Baja Championship (FIA).

鈥淭he good feelings continued during the next stage of the day, improving positions and finishing first in the CERTT and second in the FIA.”

鈥淭he second day of the rally was even more complicated, with very long meaning you had to keep a cool head. During the first stage of the day, Fidel and Fausto found a large hidden stone that broke a fundamental piece of the Can Am. However, the great skills of Fausto the mechanic allowed the car to be repaired quickly, although they lost 25 crucial minutes.

鈥淒espite this setback, they managed to recover time thanks to their excellent performance, finishing fourth in the聽CERTT and third in the FIA.

鈥淭he last stage went smoothly, allowing the duo to continue聽recovering time and positions. The final result of the rally was seconds in the CERTT and third in the FIA, a result with which we are very happy with, considering it could have been much worse.

鈥淚t is important to highlight that 91传媒 compounds played a crucial role in these achievements, providing the necessary performance and reliability to face the challenges of this modality.鈥�

鈥淎fter missing the Scottish round last year, I was determined to make it this year.

鈥淭he track was a tight and technical motocross track with lots of jumps. We were running the track backwards this year, and the jumps were not ideal for hitting fast, so a little more thought had to go into choosing lines.聽

鈥淲ith the track being tight and overtaking difficult, a good qualifying position was essential.

鈥淚 managed to get a couple of clean laps in early before I started hitting traffic, but felt that there was definitely a few more seconds to be shaved off in regards to lap times once I got up to full race speed. Unfortunately, traffic and the rain starting put paid to any cleaner laps.聽

鈥淚 qualified second behind my teammate Mark McCann in his Turbo. I was happy with that 鈥撀爏etting the fastest time for a non-turbo in the Open class.

鈥淢e and McCann got away well in race one and gapped the rest of the pack and I had a steady drive to finish second.

鈥淚t was more of the same for the second race, with McCann and myself getting away from most of the pack and Tom Welbourne pushing hard behind us in third, keeping us on our toes. I even had a little scare when Tom got past me when I jokered, as I was unsure if Tom had used the joker lane himself yet, but he hadn鈥檛 and I got past him when he jokered on the next lap. I finished this race second.

鈥淩ace three was a carbon copy of the previous races, only this time I managed to build a gap big enough on third place to make sure I could do the joker lane without losing any places. I once again finished second.

鈥淚 finished second overall on the day behind McCann, gaining some well-needed championship points to move me up the table after missing the last Open class round.
