Bobby Varey is competing in BSB鈥檚 ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup

Preston-based Bobby Varey is currently competing in BSB鈥檚 ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup, entrusting 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX motorsport brake pads on his German race bike.

The latest round of the season to the one-make series to Derbyshire鈥檚 Donington Park, where a promising start ended in a dramatic off for Varey during Sunday鈥檚 racing action.

Read how it panned out in his own words鈥

“Friday started off strong with a P4 finish in Free Practice 1, followed by an even better result in Free Practice 2 where we secured Pole Position. Qualifying wrapped up the day with a P2 finish, just 0.07 seconds behind Nikki Coates, which placed us into Heat 2.”

“Saturday鈥檚 Heat Race 2 was a good race from start to finish coming out on Pole giving us confidence heading into Sunday鈥檚 main race. Drawing out the top 6 from each heat placing me 2nd on the grid for Sundays race.”

“Unfortunately, Sunday didn鈥檛 go as planned. During the warm up lap Scott Carson crashed at the bottom of Craner Curves directly in front of me, and despite my best efforts to avoid the incident, I sadly collided with him. This meant we were unfortunately unable to continue with the race.”

“A disappointing way to end the weekend after such a positive start, but we鈥檒l regroup, rebuild, and come back stronger for the next round. Thank you to everyone for the continued support 鈥 it means a lot.

“Wishing Scott Carson a speedy recovery.”

The Spiceboy Racing trio rely on EBC鈥檚 components on their 600cc motorcycles

The SpiceBoy Racing team, comprising three riders, are competing in the Clubman 600 class of the NGRRC for the 2026 season.

Tim Petts, Jon Otter and Nev Otter all entrust 91传媒 components on their array of 600cc Kawasaki and Triumph machines 鈥 including GPFAX front brake pads, Double-H sintered rear brake pads and XC-Series floating brake discs.

Following a successful 2025 campaign and promising first round at Brands Hatch, we next caught up with the trio fresh from the second round at Lincolnshire鈥檚 Cadwell Park.

Read all about it in their own words below鈥

鈥淪piceboy Racing took on a stacked Championship Clubman 600 grid at Cadwell Park for Round 2 of the NGRRC season, delivering a weekend of close racing, big personal improvements, and hard-fought battles across the field. While Tim Petts led the charge at the front of the midfield, Jon Otter showed clear progression and Nev Otter dug deep through a challenging weekend.鈥

Qualifying 鈥 Saturday

After splitting test duties, Jon Otter carried strong momentum into the weekend 鈥撀燾onsistently improving on last year鈥檚 pace and banking PBs across sessions. Nev Otter, meanwhile, was left searching for answers, struggling to unlock pace 鈥 a theme that would continue.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P13 鈥 1:42.5 (PB)
Jon Otter (#103): P30 鈥 1:46.5
Nev Otter (#69): P34 鈥 1:47.6

鈥淲ith a mixed grid across the team, all eyes turned to race day to see who could move forward.鈥

Race One 鈥 Saturday

鈥淭im Petts launched straight into the fight at the sharp end of the midfield, getting a clean start and running with the front group before making decisive moves late on.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P9 鈥 Top 10 finish | 1:41.3 (PB)

鈥淔urther back, Nev made early progress before a bold move into Mansfield didn鈥檛 quite come off, forcing him onto the grass and costing valuable ground.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P30

鈥淛on Otter focused on consistency, keeping things tidy and building a solid platform for the races ahead.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P32

Race Two 鈥 Sunday Morning

鈥淎nother strong launch from Tim saw him right in the mix again 鈥 this time even closer to the front.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P7 鈥 1:40.7 (PB, fastest lap of the weekend)

鈥淯p to 6th into Turn 1 and running as high as 5th, Tim showed serious pace before arm pump set in late race. Even so, it was a standout result and a big step forward on the new bike.

鈥淏ehind, Nev absolutely rocketed off the line鈥攇aining eight places on lap one鈥攂ut couldn鈥檛 hold the momentum as the race unfolded.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P30

鈥淛on had a strong start but lost ground in the opening corners. From there, he regrouped and stayed right in the fight, finishing just behind Nev while setting a new personal best.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P31 鈥 1:45.5 (PB)

Race Three 鈥 Sunday Afternoon

鈥淪tarting P7, Tim dropped slightly at the start but stayed consistent, keeping himself firmly in the top 10 fight.鈥

Tim Petts (#27): P10

鈥淔urther back, the father-son battle added extra spice. Jon had his sights set on finally getting one over Nev鈥攂ut Nev had other ideas.鈥

Nev Otter (#69): P19

鈥淎 much stronger ride saw Nev finally find some rhythm, charging up to 17th before just losing a couple of spots late on after a hard fight.鈥

Jon Otter (#103): P25

鈥淛on delivered another solid performance, getting involved in multiple battles and coming out on top鈥攃ontinuing his steady progression and race craft development.鈥

Weekend Summary

鈥淎 weekend of contrasts, but clear progress across the Spiceboy Racing team.

鈥淭im Petts led from the front with three top 10 finishes, the fastest lap of the weekend, and over 3 seconds improvement on last year鈥檚 pace鈥攁ll while still adapting to his new machine.

鈥淛on Otter showed some of the biggest gains, consistently improving lap times and race craft, highlighted by multiple PBs and strong race consistency.

鈥淣ev Otter endured a tougher weekend but showed resilience, with a strong recovery ride in Race Three proving the pace is still there when it clicks.鈥

Tim Petts (#27):
鈥淢ega weekend鈥攔eally starting to click with the new weapon (aka Keith!). Big step forward in pace and great to be fighting at the front. Plenty more to come.鈥

鈥淲ith momentum building, valuable lessons learned, and pace improving across the board, Spiceboy Racing heads to the next round ready to push on.鈥

Max Symonds uses 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in the British Superbike Championship鈥檚 National Superstock category for a number of years.

The rider, who also聽won Castle Combe Circuit鈥檚 NG Road Racing 鈥楰ing of Combe鈥 race in 2025, switched from his Yamaha R1 to a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade last year, continuing to use this bike and its 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 GPFAX pads and X-Series floating discs setup for the 2026 season.

Following some聽extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe and an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch earlier in the year, we next caught up with Symonds after a stint of testing and another NG Road Racing weekend across April.

Read how the month panned out in his own words below鈥

Snetterton Test Day

鈥淲e started the month with a test day at Snetterton 鈥 my first laps of the circuit on the Fireblade. The main aim was to establish a solid base setting on the bike and get back up to speed around the track having not raced here last year.

鈥淪trict noise limits on the day, combined with some changeable weather, meant we didn’t get as much time on track as we’d have liked. However, as the conditions improved towards the end of the afternoon we managed to put some good laps together and came away with a good setting for the race event back here later in the year.鈥

Cadwell Park 鈥 NG Road Racing Round 2

鈥淎fter taking four wins and setting a new lap record at round one, we decided to enter the second event of the NG Road Racing Season at Cadwell Park.

鈥淪aturday was a solid start, qualifying second in both the Powerbike and Open classes and taking a pair of second-place finishes in the races. Overnight, we made some changes to the bike set-up and I worked on a few adjustments to my riding style. This made big improvements for Sunday as we went on to take two wins after some really close races and fast, consistent lap times.鈥

Oulton Park 鈥 BSB Pre-Season Test

鈥淥ur first official BSB event of the year. Two full days on track gave us the chance to run through a wide range of set-up options and really get the bike working the way we want it to.

鈥淚 was happy to put in a new personal best lap time and to be lapping with pretty consistent pace throughout. The test was a lot of hard work with a total of 90 laps logged over the two days which was all worth it as the bike is starting to feel exactly how I want it and we left Oulton Park with a big smile on our faces.鈥

Donington Park 鈥 Test Day

鈥淗aving missed the official BSB test there earlier in the month, it was important to get some laps in round here ahead of the race later in the season.

鈥淐old temperatures and high winds made the morning session tricky, but as the weather improved through the afternoon I was able to put in some strong lap times. We finished the day happy with the progress made and confident going into the start of the BSB season.鈥

Oliver Charlesworth uses XC discs and GPFAX pads for his road racing campaigns

Experienced bike racer, Oliver Charlesworth, competes in a wide variety of prestigious road racing championships each year.

Charlesworth has recently upgraded to run 91传媒鈥 XC discs and GPFAX pads on his Aprilia superbike, supplying him with promising results so far.

Next up was the Bob Smith Spring Cup at the iconic Oliver鈥檚 Mount road racing circuit in Scarborough, where Charlesworth came away with strong results and confidence brewing for the season ahead.

Read all about it in his own words below鈥

鈥淎 challenging but promising start to the season, with some clear positives to take away 鈥 especially in braking performance.

鈥淎fter qualifying 7th on the Supersport grid, we showed strong potential in Race 2, moving up to 4th place early on. However, after a couple of moments in the opening laps, the decision was made to retire from the race. It was about the bigger picture 鈥 staying focused on the season ahead rather than taking unnecessary risks.”

鈥淚n the Supertwin class, we were consistently inside the top 15 and made steady progress across the weekend. The Aprilia 660 in particular is showing real promise heading forward.

鈥淎 big positive throughout was the performance of the聽91传媒聽package. On both bikes, the braking was strong, consistent, and gave the confidence to push: especially important around a circuit like Oliver鈥檚 Mount. It鈥檚 a solid step forward and something we鈥檙e excited to build on into 2026鈥︹

Scott Stone uses 91传媒 components on his Yamaha R1

Retford-based Scott Stone is competing in No Limits Racing鈥檚 Pirelli Super Series 1000cc Power Trophy across 2026 on his Yamaha R1, aiming to achieve solid results throughout the year.

Stone relies on 91传媒鈥 GPFAX (front axle) and Double-H Sintered (rear axle) brake pads to help giving him a fighting chance of achieving some of the fastest lap times on the grid.

With plenty of class podiums achieved across the 2025 season, we next caught up with Stone following his second race of 2026 at Derbyshire鈥檚 Donington Park, where promising results were achieved across the weekend.

Read how the race meeting unfolded in Stone鈥檚 own words below鈥

Test day

鈥淒ry and sunny, though still quite cold. There was a lot of slow traffic to deal with most of the day, but managed to get laps in the 1 min 35secs. Was happy with my riding and the bike setup felt close, so was ready for qualifying.鈥

Qualifying

鈥淨ualified P11 and 8th in class with a 1:35.250 on new tyres. Had hoped for more, but was happy enough and felt I could be strong in the race.鈥

Race 1

鈥淏it of a scrappy start again! From fourth row of the grid, if you don鈥檛 get away well, there is a lot of scrapping to do early doors, which breaks up the rhythm. Pace was good with low 1:34s and I felt good to the end, missing out on 8th place to Liam Murtagh by 0.065 of a second. A decent race, but felt I should鈥檝e done more.鈥

Race 2

鈥淲e analysed the data from Race 1 where the bike felt really good, but lacked a little rear grip. Made some changes and felt we had a bike I could really have a good go with. Got a mediocre start, but surprisingly, no one passed me into Turn 1, so got the hammer down. Went from 11th on the grid into P7 by the end of Lap 1 and held this position to Lap 5, running consistently low 1:34s. and keeping a gap to the busy pack behind me. Jack Morgan got past on Lap 5 and Jamie Boyce on Lap 6 before the latter slid off in front of me at Melbourne. Time to drop into the 33s. BUT after Lap 7 the rear grip went from perfect to non-existent. Wilf Turner overtook me on Lap 8 and it took a tremendous effort to control the rear whilst running in the mid to high 34s. and hold on to finish P8. First half of this race we were very strong. Shame about the rear tyre, but we learnt a lot and gave it a good go.鈥

Race 3

鈥淐ombining my best sector times from Race 2 would show an Ideal lap time of 1:33.5. I felt, with good rear grip and some space, I could improve on that time and achieve a better finish. After speaking to James at No Limits Race Support, we made changes that I was desperate would make the difference.听 I could feel the potential if everything lined up.

鈥淩ace 2 lap time put me 11th on the grid, meaning a good start was paramount. Got boxed in as not aggressive enough and was right in the middle of where I don鈥檛 want to be. The early laps felt so slow and I felt, with some space, I could push on. Our seven-rider group was all split between 0.50s, so breaking out was easier said than done. Made some passes but lost them again as I just wasn鈥檛 aggressive enough. Then the Race was red flagged, reducing the planned 9 laps to a 4-lap sprint. Not ideal as I had to start from 11th again, and didn鈥檛 make the best of starts, got boxed in and found it hard to make passes stick. The 6-rider group was running with only 0.30s between them. The strangest thing, I did a new PB of 1.34s. and it honestly felt like a Sunday rideout. The tyre and grip were perfect, but I couldn鈥檛 get out of the busy pack. Finished 7th in class again; not the way I hoped for the weekend, but we kept it sunnyside, learnt a lot and came away with more confidence.鈥

We caught up with the team off the back of the official BSB testing day at Derbyshire鈥檚 Donington Park. You can hear how it went in their own words below鈥

鈥淲O1 Gav Watts and SSgt Stephen Thomas continued their preparations for the upcoming British Superbike (BSB) season by attending the Official BSB Test at Donington Park on 3鈥4 April. Cold temperatures and strong winds made for challenging running throughout the two days.”

鈥淲atts, who will be competing in his second season in the National Superstock 1000 class aboard his Honda Fireblade, used the test to focus on development rather than outright lap time. Reflecting on the event, he said: 鈥淭he conditions have been extremely challenging due to the cold temperatures and very high winds. We didn鈥檛 concentrate on an outright fast lap, instead focusing on understanding the new data software and experimenting with different electronic and geometry setups. Overall, I鈥檓 pleased with the two days and now look forward to the second test at Oulton Park in a few weeks鈥 time.鈥

鈥淭homas, who will contest the ultra鈥慶ompetitive Supersport Cup in 2026 on his Triumph 765RS, echoed the importance of the test. After 5鈥6 months off the bike, the focus was on rebuilding confidence and ensuring the package was working correctly. He commented: 鈥淭his test was important to get reacquainted with the team and the bike. Lap times were down across all classes due to the wind and low temperatures, but it was good to get some solid laps in alongside the riders I鈥檒l be racing against this year.鈥

Following some extensive testing at the start of the year across Europe, we next caught up with Symonds after his first race of the year 鈥 an NG Road Racing outing at Brands Hatch 鈥 ahead of his BSB season start.

Here, Symonds dominated in the Powerbike and Open classes, as you can read below in his team鈥檚 own words鈥

鈥淪ymonds Racing enjoyed a highly successful outing at the NG Road Racing season opener at Brands Hatch, delivering a dominant performance across both the Powerbike and Open classes.

鈥淢ax qualified on pole position in both categories, went on to win all four races he entered, and broke both class lap records including setting a new outright NG lap record at Brands Hatch Indy in the process,鈥 his team explains.

鈥淲ith the British Superbike season still a few weeks away, we decided to enter round one of the NG Road Racing championship to gain valuable track time.

鈥淔riday鈥檚 test day was especially useful, with lots of track sessions allowing us to test new rear suspension components and a find a good direction for the season ahead.

鈥淪aturday started with qualifying sessions for both classes, where I was able to put the bike on pole in each with some strong laps.

鈥淯nfortunately, due to some work that needed doing on the bike between sessions, we decided to sit out the first Open race to make sure everything was 100% ready. With no championship points on the line, it made sense not to take any unnecessary risks.

鈥淚 got back out in the first Powerbike race and managed to take a lights to flag victory, setting a new lap record of 47.2 seconds along the way.”

鈥淪unday morning鈥檚 second Open race was a bit more of a challenge, starting from the back of the grid after missing Saturday鈥檚 race. This meant a pretty hectic start to the race as I worked my way through from 34th to the lead by lap eight. Once I hit the front I was then able to pull out a gap and take the win by a couple of seconds.

鈥淪tarting from pole again in the next Powerbike race, I made the most of the clear track ahead and really pushed on putting together a strong run of laps under my previous best. By lap 5 I had set a new lap record of 46.7 seconds 鈥 half a second quicker than the day before.

鈥淚n the final Open race of the weekend, I had a bit of a moment coming out of turn one, but was able to regroup and control the race from the front to take another win, along with a new class lap record of 47.0 seconds.

鈥淗aving achieved everything we wanted from the weekend, we decided to sit out the final Powerbike race, saving tyres and ending the weekend on a high.

鈥淥verall, the weekend couldn鈥檛 have gone better, we made lots of progress with the bike set-up and came away with a load of wins and laps records!鈥
