Kal Fortner is using 91´«Ã½ Racing’s sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising 91´«Ã½ Racing’s SR-21â„¢ sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following a podium finish at Grid Life Carolina, where he finished only behind another SR-21™ for an EBC front-row lockout, Fortner came back fighting at the next round held at Atlanta’s iconic Michelin Road Raceway, where more podiums were clinched by both drivers.

Read how it panned out in his own words below…

“Going into this weekend, fresh off of a strong result at Gridlife Carolina coming in P2, I had so much confidence to give it my everything one of my all-time favourite tracks: Road Atlanta. To start out the weekend, I was met with some traffic during my flyers, so initially I wasn’t able to show what the true pace was. With this being a two-day, traditional time attack weekend with a limited schedule, the pressure was on to put together a perfect lap. On top of that, we had rain in the forecast for Sunday, potentially limiting us to only 3 dry sessions.”

“Road Atlanta is a very high-speed track, with the car hitting speeds of over 165 mph, putting the braking performance on centre stage. My SR-21â„¢s performed at their best, giving me the confidence to carry as much speed as possible into even the heaviest of braking zones, without a single ounce of hesitation, just full confidence. Ending the day on Saturday, I still never got a truly clean lap catching traffic on a track that is incredibly difficult to pass at, but even with this, I was able to put us into P3 going into Sunday.”

“Come Sunday morning, to my surprise, we had no rain! I knew exactly where I needed to find the time, and I did just that. Battling back and forth up until the last session, I ended the weekend in P2, with Eric Dewitt in P1, also on EBCs! Just like Carolina, this was an EBC Streetmod 1-2, and on top of that, in ClubTR, the entire podium was swept by EBC equipped cars! I couldn’t be prouder to show represent EBC in such a strong showing against such a strong field at one of the most difficult tracks in the world.â€

Hooman Rahimi uses 91´«Ã½ components on his boosted Nissan 370Z

Tennessee-based pro drifter, Hooman Rahimi, is once again competing in the PROSPEC category of the prestigious Formula Drift series in the USA.

Rahimi entrusts 91´«Ã½ Racing’s Apollo Big Brake Kit with RP-1â„¢ pads and GD rotors on his highly capable turbocharged LSX-powered Nissan 370Z.

Following a rollercoaster of a year – including a solid fifth-place finish from the first round in Atlanta and more recently a turbulent round at New Jersey, the team’s next round took them to the capacious World Wide Technology Raceway in St Louis, Missouri, where Rahimi experienced another successful weekend.

Read how it all panned out in his team’s words below…

“Round 3 is in the books! We had a little whirlwind of a competition in St Louis. We started off the first practice day pretty smooth, with the track and gearing working pretty well. We made a small change in gearing to dial in better wheel speed and then just started to get laps.

“Of course, this never lasts long as next thing we knew, we lost our accessory belt towards the end of the first practice session. We quickly figured out that we had a pulley that was starting to fail so we put a new belt on to get through practice and then swapped the pulley between sessions. Next session went pretty well and we felt rather good ending the night with a good car and good setup.

“The next day started the same… until it didn’t! We were getting in several laps until on one lap, my spotter told me to push a little deeper into Zone 1. Well, I did, but a little too deep and we dipped a tyre just outside the track edge. Unfortunately, there was a very large rock on the edge of the track buried that had slowly found itself visible from all the cars that had been digging out the rut. I was the guinea pig and my wheel hit just right and sent me into an airborne, 360 degrees and actually jumped over the car behind me.

“Luckily, Cody Buchanan, the good driver he is, dodged me and we luckily did not damage much. We got towed off track and had to just swap some wheels and do a four-wheel alignment to get it ‘straight enough’.”

“We went into our first battle in Top 32 and got a rematch from Round 2 with Allen Boss and took home the win. We ended up getting hit pretty hard while in the lead and destroyed another door on the car. (that is two doors this year and counting). We hammered the door the best we could and got the car aligned again and then went into our Top 16 battle.

“We had a great battle with Cole Richards but unfortunately, he just had the slightly better run. I left the battle proud we laid down a great run and put up a good fight and know I gave it my best. Now we work on improving my best and making the best from the car even better.”

“We left the event in 11th place, and are sitting in 12th in points out of 38 drivers. We have one more round to step up and put some bigger points on the board. We are heading to Utah next week and made a few changes to the car to get better chases. We are excited to try it out verse the field at a really fast track.

“We had a few events these past few weeks from Import Alliance in Nashville to National Corvette Museum in Bowling green where we were able to do some testing while also putting on a show for the fans.

“Our next few weeks will be even busier as we go across country to Utah for the final round of Formula Drift, then LS Fest back in Bowling Green, and then Slush Motorsports in Nashville all back to back. It should be fun, but hectic!â€

Rahimi entrusts 91´«Ã½ Racing’s Apollo Big Brake Kit with RP-1â„¢ pads and GD rotors on his highly capable turbocharged LSX-powered Nissan 370Z.

With a solid fifth-place finish under their belt from the first round in Atlanta, the team’s next round took them to New Jersey’s Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, where some gremlins put a stop to the high scores he was hoping for.

Read how it all panned out in his team’s words below…

“Greetings all! It has been a hectic few weeks and we are about to repeat it all again!

“Formula Drift New Jersey did not pan out the way we wanted, with a close battle in our Top 32, but we did learn some lessons. We had some major contact in our last practice session. We also were dealing with some fuel pressure issues.”

“We went back to pits and took the time to diagnose and swap out our fuel pressure sensor which was the fix, but we did not pay attention to the alignment of the car and unfortunately we went into battle with our car toe knocked out about 1/4″ on one side. This made the battle a bit more challenging than we wanted and we lost forward bite. We also made some contact in our first half of the battle and we should have asked for inspection on the toe. I personally didn’t think it was that much contact but afterwards we saw the wheel was knocked out and fully black (wheel to wheel).”

“The lesson learned here is double check alignment before going into battle and ask for inspection if the rules allow! We aren’t sure when we had the toe knocked out but we definitely will go away with the lesson learned!

“Next stop: St Louis…â€

Round one took the roadshow to Atlanta, where the team put in a solid effort to see Rahimi finish 5th.

Read how it all panned out in his team’s words below…

“We are back! We had a GREAT weekend with a 5th place finish! We could not be happier (unless we got a podium).

“The event went great for us. We were able to get the car finished up fairly early this year and got in our testing in March. This proved valuable and we really dealt with basically zero issues during practice and competition with the vehicle. Our biggest issue was an AN line that needed a little tightening. Everything worked as it should! It is a great feeling when you can just feel confident and rely on your vehicle. Especially when you are about to throw your car down the hill at ~90mph!”

“We were really happy with the changes we made on the car in the off-season! The car is much more responsive now and we have the forward bite that we were lacking before. This is really going to prove useful at later rounds and we can’t wait for Formula Drift New Jersey.

“We are starting to prep for Round 2 in New Jersey and I am starting to work on learning the world of virtual drifting so I can use that for practice. The car really does not need much to be ready for NJ so I will focus on myself…â€

Hooman Rahimi uses RP-1â„¢ high-performance brake pads on his fearsome drift machine

Tennessee-based pro drifter, Hooman Rahimi, is once again competing in the PROSPEC category of the prestigious Formula Drift series in the USA.

Rahimi entrusts 91´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-1â„¢ pads and GD rotors on his highly capable turbocharged LSX-powered Nissan 370Z.

Round one took the roadshow to Atlanta, where Rahimi’s teams experienced plenty of thrills and spills, but ultimately some good finishes at the end of the weekend.

Read how it all panned out in his team’s words below…

“What a weekend! We just got back from our first round of competition in Formula Drift and came out with some excitement and some results!

“Hooman finished up in Top 8 (tied for 5th place currently in points) while Allen [the team’s other driver] despite having his motor fail on the day of tech inspections, still managed to put some points on the board!

“Hooman had a little bit of a wild ride during practice. We started the day pumped and ready and everything seemed like it would be going smoothly… wrong!

“First lap out, the car overheated because BOTH fans failed, one brand new fan just completely had the blade come off and the other kept popping fuses. Well, fortunately for us, Allen’s car runs the same fans so we stole the fans off his car and got the car back on grid.”

“We got four total laps in practice and then went into battles, and they were not going to make it easy! First battle out we got our wheel knocked in and it broke our tie rod and rack. We change it overnight and got into more battles the next day.

“In our Top 32 battle, we had some rubbing but no major damage. In Top 16, we got into a little scuffle after the lead driver miss-shifted and we ended up colliding to bend ANOTHER tie rod and rack! Unfortunately, not enough time to swap the rack so we just sent it with a bent rack and new tie rod! We ended up getting knocked out in our Top 8 battle. Really good results for the 1st round placing us tied for 5th out of 48 drivers going into Round 2.

“We are ready for Jersey; Allen has plans for a new motor to get him through that round already in the works and we are just making the proper repairs and minor adjustments on Hooman’s car.â€
