Front-running BSB Supersport team, Astro-MAR HIPPO Suzuki, recently took the annual pilgrimage to Florida’s Daytona International Speedway for the 200-mile Daytona 200 endurance race. The trio of Suzuki GSXR-750 bikes all boast 91´«Ã½ Racing’s GPFAX brake pads and X-Series discs up front.

The Clubracer racing outfit has relied on 91´«Ã½ components as it has made its way up the ranks through the MSVR Trackday Championship classes. This all culminated in an outright championship win in 2025 – a fantastic result for the team. Riding off this success, they’ve decided to move onto pastures new for the 2026 season, entering the 750MC Roadsports Championship, where they took home a podium in the opening round.

Dave Barrett is competing in the 2026 Modified Ford Series, piloting his modified Mk4 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec within the Class C category. We caught up with Dave after the first round of the year, held at Cheshire’s Oulton Park recently, where he achieved a maximum points hall with class wins in both races entered.

Pro drifter, Stuart Egdell, continues his partnership with 91´«Ã½ as he once again carries out another season of the Drift France championship. Following a season in NLR’s SuperTwins in 2025, as well as successes on the gruelling Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT races at the iconic Isle of Man mountain course, Russell Brook began his 2026 campaign by entering the NLR 750km Endurance Race at Donington Park Circuit, where they took home a 3rd in class.

British Caterham racer, Carl Jones, is undertaking another season in the top-tier Caterham Seven Championship UK in his 420R-badged machine. Following multiple podiums across 2025, we caught up with Jones fresh off the back of his first 2026 round at Silverstone, where a DNF in Race 1 was pivoted into spectacular victory in the second outing of the weekend, despite starting at the back of the grid.

Owen Fox uses an 91´«Ã½ Racing Apollo Big Brake Kit on his Nissan 350Z

Up-and-coming drifter, Owen Fox, secured victory in his first ever competitive event during the BHP Show at Kent Showground recently.

The driver, competing in the 2026 season of Drift Style UK, relies on an 91´«Ã½ Racing 6-piston big brake kit, RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads and USR rear discs to stop his modified Nissan 350Z drift car.

Read how the incredibly successful weekend panned out for Fox in his own words below…

“Going into my very first drift competition, I was super nervous, and I could feel the adrenaline pumping as soon as I woke up that morning. We started off with the drivers’ briefing and track walk, and shortly after, it was time for me to get suited up, warm the car up, and get ready to go.

“As I sat on the line waiting to head out on track for my first practice laps in front of 13,000 people, I really didn’t know what to expect.

“Straight after that first lap, the nerves settled and the game head was well and truly screwed on, ready to push as hard as I could. Even then, I still had no expectations – I just wanted to drive my best and see how I got on.”

“After practice, we noticed a slight leak coming from the diff, but my amazing team and I instantly got to work and resolved the issue. By this point, it was time for my one-lap super qualifying run. I put everything I had on the line and gave it my all, and shortly after, I found out that it had paid off – I qualified P1.

“With all the mixed emotions going through me and knowing I was about to head into my first battle, all I could focus on was remaining calm and reminding myself to drive the way I had been all day.

“After pushing myself and the car to the limit in my battle against such an amazing driver, Warren Lee, I genuinely didn’t know what the result was going to be, as we both put on an incredible battle and real masterclass for the fans.

“This resulted in a ‘One More Time’, which I honestly didn’t expect at all. Once again, I did everything I could and drove the best I could, and we managed to take home the win. Wow – what a feeling that was. I’ve never felt anything like it.”

“For me, the win was an incredible result, and I was extremely proud of myself and my team. But most importantly, this weekend proved something to me – I belong here.

“None of this would have been possible without the support behind me. Every sticker on the car represents people and businesses who believed in me before there were results, before there was experience, and before there was proof. Your support gave me the opportunity to stand on that grid and fight for something bigger than myself. And this is only the beginning.

“Now I understand what it truly takes to compete at this level. I know where I need to improve, I know how hard I’m willing to push, and I’m leaving this weekend more motivated, focused, and hungry than ever before.”

“Thank you for backing me, believing in the vision, and being part of this journey from day one. We’re building something real, and I’m going to keep pushing until we make serious noise in this sport.

“This first competition lit a fire in me that isn’t going out. Let’s keep moving forward…â€

Stuart Egdell is competing in the French national drifting championship

Pro drifter, Stuart Egdell, continues his partnership with 91´«Ã½ as he once again carries out another season of the Drift France championship.

After several successful years of relying on 91´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ brake pads, Egdell’s formidable 2JZ-powered S14A Nissan Silvia was upgraded further for the 2025 season, with the addition of a six-piston Apollo Big Brake Kit that helped propel him to great results in last year’s season.

We caught up with Egdell off the back of his debutant 2026 round at Circuit du Val de Vienne, where despite some setbacks, it was a positive insight into the year ahead for the team.

Check out his race report below…

“Drift France Round 1 certainly set the season off with a bang!

“With the car doing double duty—Luke competing in Pro and myself in Elite – it made for a challenging weekend full of highs and lows. Luke received a wildcard entry to compete at the home track of LM Autosport 86 at Val d’Vienne just a few weeks before the event, which meant a huge push from the whole team to get everything dialled in for the season opener.”

“The event kicked off on Friday with media day. This included practice sessions and passenger runs for sponsors, the public, and championship officials. During testing, I was able to really push the car to its limits, although the day ended slightly early after breaking a lower arm on a rumble strip. The team worked hard that evening to repair and realign everything, getting the car ready for Saturday.

“Saturday consisted of practice and qualifying. During practice, Luke unfortunately bent the steering arm twice, but thanks to support from another driver, we were able to get back out in time for qualifying. With the Pro class running first in worsening weather conditions, Luke delivered a strong performance and secured 5th place.”

“I followed in the Elite qualifying session and managed a solid first run scoring 75 points, placing me 7th. On my second run, I pushed harder and went wider, but a slight wheel drop on clip 5 meant I matched my previous score—frustrating, as it likely cost a top 3 position.

“Sunday was race day. Luke drove a strong Top 16 battle to secure a place in the Top 8, but unfortunately had to withdraw due to a cracked rear diff plate causing an oil leak on track. Despite this, he finished an impressive 7th place in his first ever CFD event—great job!”

“After a rapid repair, the car was ready for my Top 32 battle. However, we quickly discovered a major loss of power. Post-run checks revealed a split inlet plenum, causing a significant loss of boost across the rev range. Up against a 1000hp competitor on one of the fastest tracks of the season, it was always going to be tough. I gave it everything, but multiple corrections in the chase run ultimately cost the battle.

“Overall, Round 1 was an incredible start to the season and a true team effort under pressure. It’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting CFD seasons yet.

“As always, thank you for your continued support—we look forward to seeing you all at the next event. Round 2 is just two weeks away, featuring an all-night battle at Vesoul.”

The driver duo uses a raft of 91´«Ã½ Racing components on their Mk5 VW Golf GTI

The Clubracer racing outfit – made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover – has relied on 91´«Ã½ components as it has made its way up the ranks through the MSVR Trackday Championship classes.

This all culminated in an outright championship win in 2025 – a fantastic result for the team. Riding off this success, they’ve decided to move onto pastures new for the 2026 season, entering the 750MC Roadsports Championship in their modified Mk5 VW Golf GTI.

With a string of further upgrades applied over the winter, and retaining their winning Apollo Big Brake Kit/RP-Xâ„¢ brake pad setup, the team approached the first round at Croft Circuit with an optimistic mindset.

Find out how it all panned out in their own words below…

“With the success of 2025 behind us, winning the MSVR Trackday Championship overall, we set our sights on a different goal for 2026: the Roadsports Championship hosted by 750MC would be where we plan to do battle. With a very similar format, but slightly higher power categories and faster pit stops, it sets a very different challenge.Ìý

“Over the winter, the car has received a slight power hike with a bigger turbo and supporting mods, along with some other minor upgrades. Rear brakes have been upgraded to factory Mk5 Golf R32 vented EBC plain discs, and Ultimax2 pads with slightly larger diameter; not necessarily for more brake force, but a more consistent temperature window, as the rears are worked quite hard with the OEM ABS system. This, matched with the now tried-and-tested EBC Apollo 6 pot 355x32mm front big brake kit, and our ‘go-to’ RP-Xâ„¢ compound pads.”

“Round 1 was held at the Croft circuit near Darlington, with the weather looking to be mixed to say the least. Qualifying started in wet conditions. We readied the car with a known good wet setup and Kev rolled out to see where we were pace wise.

“Having no previous running against the new field of competitors (26 in our Class B!), it was a complete unknown at this stage. As Kev pulled in after his stint, we were sat in P2 initially – a great start! Henry jumped in for the final few laps with the track conditions improving quickly, but unfortunately a combination of traffic, an odd red flag due to a circuit electrical glitch, and various other racing driver excuses!, we ended the session in P5.

“Still a very respectable start to the campaign. It’s always been a bit of a disadvantage having 2 drivers in a sprint enduro format, as you lose half the session changing drivers and getting back up to speed, whilst single driver entrants keep lapping. Especially in changeable conditions.

Ìý“The new brake setup was proving a vast improvement in terms of feel and temperature consistency, so we were very happy with the confidence that was giving us in the bumpy braking zones.”

“The race was full of excitement, the weather constantly changing throughout. The rolling start went without issue and first five cars including us started to pull away from the remaining pack. With contact up ahead from a bold move into the Complex saw us take advantage and up to P3, using our normal measured approach. A lap later the leader went off going into the Complex too! P2.

“A few laps went by before the previous leading car of Packer was back on our rear bumper, he went through on the inside into the Complex, allowing all 3 leading cars to bunch up nicely heading down into Tower corner the following lap, where Packer re-took the lead. I ceased the opportunity to follow him through with a late brake manoeuvre both going past the leading Mk7 Golf back into P2.”

“On the way into the pits, a lapped Porsche Boxster held us up for half a lap, unfortunately meaning Kev came out the pits now in P4. Soon after Kev’s pit exit, there was a safety car due to a crashed Vauxhall Corsa, meaning it would be a 3-lap sprint to the end. The 3rdÌýplaced BMW Z4 seemed a long way ahead on the penultimate lap, with the added hassle of a lapped VW Scirocco in-between Kev and his target. A very committed move past the backmarker through the left hander of the Esses, subsequently forcing the BMW to out brake himself into Sunny-in. Kev lined up the move into the harpin after getting right up under the bumper through the Complex. taking the P3 spot!

“A podium first time out! Couldn’t be happier with that, especially with the quality of the machinery we were up against. The car was faultless through all the different conditions. Ultimate confidence on the middle pedal making the difference for us once again.ÌýÌý

“Next round – Brands Hatch GPÌýon May 3rd! Bring it on…â€

Apollo Big Brake Kit-Equipped Track Day Regular Enjoys ‘Ring and Spa Outings

Following multiple successful track days around the UK with his Apollo big brake kit-adorned Civic Type R, we recently caught up with Sam Preston once again following a mammoth trip to the Nürburgring and Spa in his heavily modified vehicle.

Sam was previously running Yellowstuff pads on his four-piston setup, as the car was still being used on the road occasionally, but he’s now enhanced his Honda further so it’s predominantly a track day machine.

Because of this, he swapped out to 91´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ track/motorsport brake pads once he arrived at each of these European track days – noting how the improved bite helped match the other recent upgrades he’s performed to his car.

EBC-Equipped Desert Racer Wins Twice in FIM World Championship

Dubai-based off-road motorcycle racer, Alex McInnes, has been competing in various desert-based off-road races across the Middle East.

After competing in five different championships back-to-back over the winter period, we next caught up with McInnes following the initial Saudi Arabia and Jordan rounds of this season’s FIM World Championship, where Alex took home two massive wins.

We show you the 91´«Ã½ components that perfectly match your lifestyle

Welcome to EBC’s ‘Suit Your Style’ blog series, where we match you up with the 91´«Ã½ upgrades that complement particular driving requirements, ensuring you get the ideal components for your vehicle.

In today’s blog, we’re hitting the circuit to look at braking components for dedicated track/race cars – the most demanding form of driving where it’s more vital than ever to rely on strong and enduring stopping power.

Around a decade ago, 91´«Ã½ launched its high performance/motorsport sub-division, 91´«Ã½ Racing – a firm that has become synonymous with range-topping braking at race tracks around the globe.

From road-legal track upgrades to endurance race components, there’s something for every corner of the motorsport spectrum in the 91´«Ã½ Racing range, as we will explore below…

Bluestuff

A great all-round sport and race pad – just as comfortable on track as it is performing daily driving duties. Road legal in most territories, making it incredibly versatile.

Bluestuff material exhibits a 0.52μ stable friction once bedded, stable up to a slightly higher 550℃/1000℃ than its sister compound Yellowstuff but with the benefit of a 30% longer lifespan.

Bluestuff has been a track day favourite for years and is the spec pad for the BMW 318i Cup series throughout Europe. New formula is copper free to conform to upcoming environmental legislations.

RP-1â„¢/RP-Xâ„¢ Motorsport Brake Pads

Designed for vehicles driven hard on track, RP-1™ possesses a moderately high friction level of 0.45 between 100 – 750°C (200 – 1400°F). The more progressive response characteristic of RP-1™ makes it well suited for inherently ‘over-servoed’ vehicles where a softer pad material is desirable to allow greater finesse when on the brakes.

RP-X™ possesses a high friction level of 0.55 between 0 – 750°C (Ambient – 1400°F) and achieves a 100% brake effect from cold – an excellent choice for sprint racing or hill climb events, where full brake performance is essential without requiring any ‘warming up’, but also makes RP-X™ well suited to any type of circuit use where a high initial bite and powerful brake response is desirable.

Both RP-series brake pad options are a fantastic choice for track day regulars or out-and-out racers.

Please note: EBC’s RP-series of brake pads are not designed for the road, but may be used in street conditions where local laws permit.

SR-11â„¢/ SR-21â„¢ Sintered Endurance Brake Pads

Whilst the competition struggles to make organic and semi-metallic pads last longer and longer to reach the pinnacle of brake pad durability, EBC has taken a fresh new approach with a blend of compressed and heat fused (sintered) metal powdered alloys, to deliver a brake pad that brakes better and lasts longer than just about everything.

The new SR series comes in two blends, SR-11â„¢ the medium friction version and SR-21â„¢ the higher friction options

Although badged an endurance-grade material, these pads are equally at home in any form of closed-circuit racing, short or long duration.

Please note: EBC’s SR-series of brake pads are not designed for the road, but may be used in street conditions where local laws permit.

Fully Floating Two-Piece Brake Rotors

Craftsmanship meets fine materials in EBC’s highest performing rotor to date. Not simply a ‘bolt-up’ two-piece unit like many of EBC’s competitors offer, they are genuine fully floating units with flat-sided SD square drive buttons, allowing expansion and contraction under the harsh conditions of heavy braking.

Featuring a a black, heat-resistant finish that quickly wears down to the natural iron finish on the disc ring within the first few miles. Any unswept areas remain protected by the black coating, such as the outer edges and inside the pad track, unless burned off due to hard use and high temperatures.

Another major benefit of the 91´«Ã½ fine slotted discs is their ability to totally resist cracking common with ‘through-drilled’ discs.

Apollo-Series Brake Calipers

UK designed and made strong-yet-lightweight aluminium four- and six-piston brake calipers, which can be purchased within a Big Brake Kit or as separate components for vehicle builders to convert cars where a dedicated Big Brake Kit is not yet made by EBC.

Packed with cutting-edge tech such as high-temperature fluid seals coupled with full boot type dust seals, lightweight hard-anodised aluminium pistons, staggered piston sizes and fully stainless-steel fittings.

BF307+ Super DOT 4 Brake Fluid

EBC’s BF307+ high performance Super DOT 4 brake fluid has been specially formulated to provide outstanding performance for braking systems routinely operated at extreme temperatures, making this fluid ideal for fast street use, track days and racing.

Bedding In

Bedding-in is an important part in getting the most out of your new braking components, especially out on track. Check out our handy road and track bedding-in guide by clicking here.

Sam Preston takes his EP3 Honda Civic Type R on various track days throughout each year

You can read how it panned out in his own words below…

“I’ve just returned from back-to-back track days on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and Spa-Francorchamps.

“With the car now running the likes of an LSD, semi-slick tyres, a full Milltek exhaust system and some other breathing mods, the upgrade to RP-Xâ„¢ pads on my Apollo big brake kit has proven to be very impressive – especially as both circuits remained mainly dry each day!”

“I didn’t think the big brake kit could get any better when I was running Yellowstuff pads, but the RP-X™ pads are on another level. The braking performance is predictable and completely consistent, event after multiple laps of the Nordschleife back-to-back.

“Having confidence in the brakes really is one of the most important factors of getting the most out of a track day, and something people often overlook. Thankfully it’s not something I ever have to think about now with this setup.â€

RP-Xâ„¢ Track/Motorsport Pads

Following the hugely successful launch of RP-1â„¢, 91´«Ã½ Racing increases its motorsport brake pad range with the introduction of our latest ultra-high-performance track & race material, RP-Xâ„¢.

Natalie Kane has been racing motocross around Europe for many years, recently taking a break due to pregnancy. She recently returned to compete in the Women’s Swedish Championship for 2025, with her first round taking place just nine weeks after giving birth. We caught up with Kane the final round of 2025, which took place at Vimmerby Motorsällskap. Despite some setbacks, she clinched 7thÌýon the day, leaving her 6thÌýoverall in the championship standings for the year.

Dave Barrett is competing in the 2025 Modified Ford Series, piloting his upgraded Mk4 Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec within the Class C category. We caught up with Barrett towards the end of the season, following his round at Lincolnshire’s Cadwell Park, where he achieved more class podiums to cement his impressive standings for the year.

Motorcycle race outfit, Brook Built Racing, has been competing in the No Limits Racing (NLR) SuperTwins and Oliver’s Mount championships throughout 2025. The latest update comes after Russell Brook and Ben Long attended the final Oliver’s Mount race of the season – the Steve Henshaw Gold Cup, where they took home more strong results.

Pro drifter, Stuart Egdell, continues his partnership with 91´«Ã½ as he once again carries out another season of the Drift France championship. Following more success at the previous round in Calmont, we caught up with Egdell as he undertook the final round of 2026 at the all-new Circuit de Charade in Auvergne, where some great driving saw him take a Top 20 overall for the season.

For many years, the Clubracer outfit – made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover – piloted their Ford Fiesta in Class D of the Trackday Championship, securing multiple podium finishes and season wins along the way. Throughout this time, the duo relied on 91´«Ã½ Racing’s motorsport brake pads to help them achieve such impressive results. Following an incredible outright win at Donington Park, we next caught up with the team following their Oulton Park and Cadwell Park rounds in the second half of the year, where more consistent, solid driving ensured the trophies continued to come in.

Martyn Henry is competing in the Pro class of Time Attack UK, in his heavily modified Vauxhall Astra VXR. Following a podium finish at Snetterton, Henry next found himself at the gruelling Knockhill Circuit in Scotland, where mixed weather and a few other issues made for a testing weekend, with good results achieved despite this.

Kart racer Marcus Hudson is campaigning in the Super 4 British Championship for the 2025 season. Following more solid driving at Fulbeck recently, Hudson soon found himself at the final round of 2025, set at Hunts Kart Racing Club, where he finished the season in P8.

Nicole Drought has been competing in the MSVT Trackday Championship for 2025, continuing to run 91´«Ã½ components in her Civic Type R. We caught up with Drought following the penultimate round at Croft Circuit, where she currently sits 5thÌýoverall and 4thÌýin class. As she is unable to compete in the final race at Brands Hatch (with ex-teammate Justin Roberts taking the hot seat for this race instead), the team took this opportunity to reflect on the hugely successful year they’ve had so far.

Retford-based Scott Stone is competing in No Limits Racing’s Premier 1000cc Championship in 2025 on his Yamaha R1, achieving class podiums throughout the year. With further class podiums and PBs achieved at the previous round at Oulton Park, Stone was back out for the final round at Derbyshire’s Donington Park recently. Luck wasn’t on his side for the weekend, but he managed to clinch second in the Premier 1000cc class for 2025.

Wiltshire-based motorcycle racer, Max Symonds has been competing in another season in the British Superbike Championship’s National Superstock category. ÌýWith great results achieved at the most recent Cadwell Park round of BSB, Max took a break from the series to return to his home circuit of Castle Combe for a very special one-off race weekend. Here, he was pleased to once again secure ‘King of Combe’ status after some fantastic riding across the two days.

Portugal-based Fabio Ferrinho has recently been competing in the Mogadouro Drag Race series in his modified 270+bhp SEAT Ibiza Bocanegra. More recently, he’s decided to take his versatile and capable steed on some track days, which has put even more strain on his car’s braking system. Because of this, he decided to upgrade to 91´«Ã½ Racing’s RP-Xâ„¢ track/race brake pads ahead of a demanding track day on the vast Portimão Circuit – an upgrade which provided great results.

The Dean Hipwell-owned Whitecliffe CDH Racing Team has been competing in the Bennetts British Superbikes Championship for the 2025 season, with both Luke Hedger and Jamie Davies piloting Honda CBR1000RR-R machines. After a successful round at Brands Hatch, we next caught up with the team at Cheshire’s Oulton Park, where treacherous weather conditions didn’t dampen the spirits of the two riders.

The NW Racing team has once again been competing in the British Motorcycle Racing Cup (Bemsee) Formula 400 series for the 2025 season, where the team continued to campaign with Luca Wilkinson, as well as introducing Zack Weston to the pack. Dubai-based off-road motorcycle racer, Alex McInnes, has had another busy year competing in various desert-based off-road races across the Middle East. We caught up with McInnes after five weeks competing in five different championships back-to-back, with impressive rides seen each step of the way.

Jeremy Evans and Phil Hart are the drivers of the Tunbridge Wells-based Semprini Racing outfit – a team that is currently campaigning a K24-engined EP3 Honda Civic Type R across both the MSV Trackday Trophy and BRSCC Supersport Endurance Championship race series in the UK. We caught up with the team as they enter their final rounds of 2025 – which proved to be a great success as they climbed 25 places to finish P5.

EBC-equipped True Heroes Racing is a motorcycle racing outfit supporting riders in various race series across the UK. Arizona-based Austin Phipps of the Mulletsport race team is a professional drifter, currently using a modified 2012 Audi S4 with manual transmission and rear-wheel drive conversion in various drift series across the USA. Ahead of the mighty FuelFest 2025 event, Phipps decided to finally get to the bottom of the engine issues that had been haunting him throughout the year by replacing the entire powerplant with a boosted LS V8 motor.

For the 2025 season, Rob Lewis once again competed in the Modified Ford Series in his Mk1 Ford Focus ST170. After catching up with Lewis after the first few rounds of the year, where car and driver had both been performing well and secured some class podiums, we next caught up with Rob after the final rounds of the season at Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch, where more podiums were clinched.
