EBC-Equipped MotoAmerica Superbike Racer Claims More Wins at Laguna Seca

Nolan Lamkin uses EBC’s GPFAX pads on his BMW S1000RR race bike

Indianapolis-based Nolan Lamkin is currently competing in two classes of the 2023 MotoAmerica motorcycle championship: Stock 1000 and the Superbike Cup.

Lamkin uses a Tom Woods Powersports BMW S1000RR stock bike, entrusting 91��ý’ GPFAX motorsport brake pads to help him stop efficiently and reliably.

His most recent outing was at California’s iconic WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway for various Superbike Cup races, where Lamkin remained at the front of the pack for the majority.

Laguna Seca boasts a number of particularly demanding corners, such as the gradient-heavy ‘Corkscrew’, which puts even more stress and demands on the bike’s braking system.

“We headed to Laguna Seca recently, where we finished up the weekend with another 1st-place finish, two 2nd-place finishes, and increased our lead in the Superbike Cup championship.��

“We were fighting with full superbikes on our stock 1000 street-legal bike, we dropped two seconds off our fastest time from Laguna Seca last year, plus cut more than 30 seconds off our total race time compared to last year.��

“On July 28th, we are back with MotoAmerica in Brainerd, MN. with both Stock 1000 and Superbike Cup races again (the last two weekends have only been Superbike Cup). The team is super excited to have both classes racing again in Minnesota!”

Class Podium for USBA Motorcycle Racer with GPFAX Brake Pads

Miguel Alamillo is competing in the Utah Sport Bike Association on his Suzuki race bike

Miguel Alamillo of Miggz Motorsports is competing in the 2023 Utah Sport Bike Association race series on his 2019 Suzuki GSX-R 1000R motorcycle, in both the Novice GTO and Deseret Dash combined classes.

The second leg of the championship took Alamillo to the much-loved Utah Motorsports Campus, where he tried out 91��ý’ GPFAX motorsport brake pads for the first time.

You can read how he got on with the product across the weekend below in his own words.

“This last weekend was Round 2 for the Utah Sportbike Association (USBA) at the Utah Motorsports Campus (UMC).

“With EBC’s help, I was able to drop my lap times down to 5.2 seconds less than in Round 1 on the same circuit! Just by switching over the GPFAX pads on my 2019 Suzuki GSX-R 1000R, I got SO MUCH more feedback from the brakes and they would actually SLOW me down!”

“I placed 3^rd in the Novice GTO class and 4^th in the Deseret Dash combined class. I’m excited to see what the EBC brake lines and rotors will do for me next. I’m super stoked to have you guys alongside me on this journey.”

EBC-Equipped MotoAmerica Racer Zac Schumacher Secures Podium at Road America

The Yamaha R1 rider secured the Superbike Cup win at the latest round in Wisconsin

Motorcycle racer, Zac Schumacher, achieved impressive scores across the board at his latest weekend competing with the MotoAmerica series at his native Wisconsin-based Road America race track.

Schumacher entrusts 91��ý with his braking components on his Yamaha R1, sporting GPFAX pads and XC-Series floating discs.

“Last weekend’s Moto America racing took place at Road America.

“Overall, it was great and with it being the first time racing on fresh pavement, it made for some exciting races. I ended up getting my best results ever on the professional stage including a win in the Superbike Cup! I even got some TV time at the end of the stock 1000 race, where I fought another R1 to the finish line – separated by .016 of a second.

“I’m looking forward to my next round at Brainerd International Raceway, MN, in July.”

EBC-Equipped Mark Goodings Dominates at NG Road Racing’s Brands Hatch Weekend

The LMT Motorsport rider secured podium finishes in both 600cc and 1000cc races

LMT Motorsport rider Mark Goodings proved to be one of the fastest men on track as he competed in both the 600cc and 1000cc rounds of the NG Road Racing weekend at Kent’s Brands Hatch.

Goodings uses 91��ý’ GPFAX pads and X-series floating discs on both his newly-aquired Yamaha R6 and Kawasaki ZX-10R, helping him to remain at the sharp end of the pack throughout both days’ racing.

As well as the NG Road Racing series, Goodings also competes in TT races.

You can read how his Brands Hatch weekend unfolded in his own words below.

“Saturday started dry at 8am, then the rain came just before First Practice. It pretty much didn’t stop until 5pm, when the sun came out, so didn’t do a lap all day – wet and cold is not a good mix.

“On Sunday at 8am, it was wet and very windy, but with no rain. We had tyre warmers on both the bikes. As we got this R6 last minute, we had no wets, so ran it on a Dunlop front slick and treaded rear tyre. We went for two laps just to qualify for the race, taking it very slowly and qualifying 22^nd out of 26.

“Open Qualifying was next, on a drying track with the wet front and slick rear setup. Going out, we managed two laps before a red flag, and didn’t restart, meaning we took 22^nd out of 25.”

Race One (600cc)

“Starting at the back of the grid, I got a mega start and passed a lot of riders to finish 3^rd on the new 600, with only 10 laps’ practice on the bike and 12 overall this year.”

Race Two (600cc)

“This should have been a good one, but after a red flag on the first lap and a restart, I was in 3^rd, going into the last corner, when the rider in front sat up for God knows what reason, putting us onto the grass. I then had to re-join in third-from-last place, securing 11^th – I should have been battling for the win. On a good note, the new R6 is good and we have adapted to the bike well.”

Open Race One

“Starting at the back, we went on to finish 4^th.”

Open Race Two

“Starting from the front row, we didn’t get the best start, but I was in 3^rd at the end of the first lap, 2^nd at the end of the second lap. I was now over two seconds behind the leader, however, and it took most of the race to catch him. I eyed up a move on the last lap when we come up to a back-marker that ended that idea. I therefore finished 2^nd, but set the fastest lap of the race.”

Race One (1000cc)

“Again, starting at the back, I had a mega run, passing everyone but one rider, finishing 2^nd and only just missing the win by 0.09 seconds.”

Race Two (1000cc)

“We were a bit slow on this one and missed the warm-up lap. We therefore had to start last again but had a really good run and passed lots of riders to finish 2^nd by 0.85 seconds, just running out of laps to win this one. One more lap would have done it as I was setting fastest lap after fastest lap, securing the overall fastest lap of the weekend with 57.40 seconds.”
