Marcus Hudson uses EBC鈥檚 Green kart pads as he competes in the British Championship class

Kart racer Marcus Hudson is once again campaigning in the Northern Karting Federation Super 4 British Championship for the 2026 season. Hudson relies on 91传媒鈥 Green kart pads for his fiery ABKC 250cc National kart.

Following another competitive round at Rowrah, Hudson was most recently back in action at Lincolnshire鈥檚 Fulbeck Kart Circuit, where the hurdles thrown at him weren’t enough to deter him from having a positive weekend.

Read on for Hudson鈥檚 account of the weekend in his own words鈥

鈥淚t was a frustrating but ultimately positive weekend, with plenty of setbacks to overcome and valuable championship points secured.鈥

Heat 1

鈥淪tarting from P9, I made a strong launch and gained three places to run P6 into Turn 1. Unfortunately, the kart suffered from significant understeer for the opening five laps, making it difficult to defend. As a result, I dropped back to P14.

鈥淎s the kart’s handling gradually improved, I was able to push forward once again, recovering several positions to finish the race in P11.鈥

Heat 2

鈥淟ining up P19 on the grid, I made another excellent start, gaining four places before Turn 1. On lap two, karts #7 and #24 came together entering the Bus Stop, allowing me to move up to P13.

鈥淎fter closing the gap to P12, I picked up the slipstream down the start/finish straight before diving to the inside into Turn 1 to complete the pass. A retirement further ahead promoted me another position.

鈥淟ater in the race, I got a strong run on P11 down the straight and pulled off an outside pass around Turn 1 to move into the top ten. Shortly afterwards, the race leader’s chain came off, promoting me to P9 with two laps remaining.

鈥淯nfortunately, I continued to struggle getting a good exit onto the start/finish straight. Losing momentum allowed another kart to pass me at the end of the straight, meaning I crossed the line in P10.鈥

Heat 3

鈥淭he opening lap was eventful. Heading into the Bus Stop, I was sideswiped by another driver. Fortunately, the kart that hit me spun off, and I was able to cut back underneath to avoid being collected and stay on the circuit. Although I didn’t lose any positions, I did lose valuable time.

鈥淚 managed to recover quickly, catching back up to second place and applying pressure for several laps. Despite multiple attempts, I couldn’t find a way through, and in trying to make the move I lost momentum, dropping back to P5.

鈥淥n lap eight, disaster struck when I was punted into the gravel at Turn 1. Keeping the throttle pinned, I managed to drive out of the gravel trap and rejoin the race, but I had fallen to P12 after losing around seven seconds.

鈥淔rom there, I put my head down, caught P11, made the pass, and continued charging through the field to finish P9 on the road. After the race, a penalty for a kart ahead promoted me to P8.鈥

Final

鈥淪tarting the final from P9, I spent much of the race holding position. Once again, I struggled to carry enough speed onto the start/finish straight, making it difficult to attack the karts ahead.

鈥淲ith one lap remaining, a retirement in front promoted me to P8, which is where I ultimately finished.鈥

Weekend Summary

鈥淥verall, it was a frustrating weekend. Saturday was disrupted by carburettor and fuel issues, while on Sunday we continued to struggle with our drive onto the start/finish straight, costing valuable time throughout the races.

鈥淒espite the challenges, we fought back consistently in every race, salvaged solid championship points, and leave the weekend sitting 5th in the championship standings.

鈥淣ow the focus turns to the next round at Shenington, where we’ll be looking to bounce back stronger鈥︹

Kal Fortner is using 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 sintered brake pads on his Mercedes track car

Kal Fortner is competing in the 2026 season of Gridlife in the USA, using his Mercedes AMG GTS as weapon of choice.

The driver is utilising 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 SR-21鈩 sintered endurance motorsport brake pads to ensure stopping power is optimal in his super-coupe.

Following podiums in Carolina and Atlanta, alongside another SR-21鈩-equipped driver, Eric 鈥楧ewey鈥 DeWitt, Fortner next visited Michigan鈥檚 Gingerman Raceway for Gridlife Midwest, with more top results secured across the weekend.

Read how it panned out in his own words below鈥

鈥淐oming off of another strong showing at Gridlife Atlanta with a double podium in Streetmod for EBC, I was feeling all the momentum and all the confidence heading into my 10th Gridlife Midwest, the event that started it all for me! The energy at Gridlife Midwest is just unmatched in every way, from the massive crowds to the festival vibes throughout the weekend, it鈥檚 always been my favourite event making a podium here just that much more meaningful. This is Gridlife鈥檚 Indy 500.”

鈥淭his weekend proved to me more of a challenge that I could have ever expected though. Right at the first corner of the very first session, my ABS failed, making each braking zone incredibly challenging. While racing a car designed without ABS is relatively straightforward, racing one without it that鈥檚 designed to have it is nothing short of dangerous.”

鈥淏ecause of this, I was far off of the pace I needed to be fighting at the front, and potentially too far off to even put it in the top-5 for the podium sprint. I knew that if I wanted a podium, I needed to give it my absolute everything to at the very least make it into the sprint in order to give us the chance to fix our ABS issues, and I was able to do just that! Modulating my SR-21鈩 pads and focusing on perfecting each and every braking zone, I got us into the sprint by just over a second! This gave us a full day to chase whatever electrical issue was causing our problems. Thankfully, Gridlife is a paddock full of the most helpful people, and after getting help from a couple mechanics on a Rush SR team, we found the blown fuse, and the ABS was back to working as it should!聽

鈥淐ome Sunday, I knew what I had to do, and now that I could actually lean into the full potential of my EBC brakes, I knew I could give it my everything to go for my third podium in a row for the season! Although I missed out on second place due to fuel cuts from the car getting little too hot waiting in the pits from an incident on track, I was able to secure third, and with Eric Dewitt in first, this was yet another double podium for EBC! After such a challenging event, to be able to come home with a podium is something I鈥檒l forever be grateful for. Next up we鈥檝e got Watkins Glen, one of my favourite tracks and a place that the Mercedes really shines at! The last time we were there, not only did I set the Streetmod record, I was also able to get the overall record! I鈥檓 so hyped to see what we can do this time!鈥

After a positive weekend at Forest Edge, Hudson was back for the third round at the Cumbria Kart Racing Club in scenic Rowrah, which proved to be another competitive leg of his season.

Read on for Hudson鈥檚 account of the weekend in his own words鈥

Super 4 2026 British Championship Round 3: Rowrah

鈥淎fter a frustrating Saturday practice, we headed into race day hoping that a fresh set of tyres would transform the kart. Throughout Saturday, nothing we tried seemed to improve the setup, and we struggled to find the right balance. Fortunately, fitting the new tyres on Sunday made a significant difference. During the morning warm-up, the kart immediately felt much better. The increased grip allowed me to carry more speed, and I found myself using a gear higher through every corner compared to the previous day. While this was encouraging, it also meant that heading into Heat 1 I effectively had to relearn the circuit, as the kart’s handling characteristics had changed dramatically from Saturday.鈥

Heat 1 (Grid: 2nd)

鈥淲e didn’t get the start we were hoping for and lost several positions heading into the first corner. It then took around four laps for both the kart and myself to fully adapt to the new tyres and find a rhythm. Once settled in, our pace improved considerably, and I was able to stay right on the back of the driver running in sixth place for the remainder of the race. We crossed the line in seventh position, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the day.鈥

Heat 2聽(Grid: 8th)

鈥淪tarting from 13th on the grid, I moved up to 11th by lap eight following some early attrition ahead. Kart 11 was tapped at high speed on the straight and was sent into the barriers, while kart 56 also retired on the same lap, promoting me up the order. By half distance, there was a long train of karts running from fifth to twelfth, all closely matched for pace. The key moment came approaching one of the hairpins, where three karts ahead became involved in an incident. I reacted quickly, diving to the inside and avoiding the crash completely while gaining several positions in the process. That move elevated me to eighth place, and I was able to maintain that position until the chequered flag.鈥

Heat 3 (Grid: 16th)

鈥淚 made a strong getaway and climbed to 14th within the opening two laps. The momentum continued as I worked my way forward to 11th place. Unfortunately, disaster struck shortly afterwards. Exiting the right-hand hairpin, the kart suddenly lost power and came to a stop, forcing me to retire from the race.聽 聽聽

鈥淏ack in the paddock, we began investigating the issue and discovered that the spark plug gap had completely closed. Further inspection of the piston crown revealed numerous impact marks, suggesting that debris had passed through the engine and damaged the spark plug. We quickly replaced the piston and worked against the clock to prepare the kart for the final, ultimately making it to the dummy grid just in time. However, the rushed turnaround meant we didn’t have sufficient time to adjust the carburettor for the changing track conditions.鈥

Final

鈥淔or the final, the kart was running too rich due to the lack of time available to adjust the carburettor settings after the engine repair. Starting from eighth on the grid, I lost three places off the line. Throughout the race, the rich carburettor setting caused the engine to misfire on corner exits, making it difficult to accelerate cleanly and defend against attacks from behind. Despite the performance limitations, I managed to keep fighting throughout the race and brought the kart home in 11th position.

鈥淎lthough the weekend began with a difficult practice day, the new tyres transformed the kart on race day and allowed us to be competitive. We secured strong results in the opening heats, highlighted by a seventh-place finish in Heat 1 and an eighth-place finish in Heat 2.

鈥淭he DNF in Heat 3 was a major setback, but the team’s effort to diagnose the issue, replace the piston and get the kart back onto the grid for the final was exceptional. Despite being hampered by an overly rich carburettor setting in the final, we still managed to finish 11th and salvage valuable championship points from a challenging weekend.

鈥淣ext stop is Fulbeck in Lincolnshire.鈥

91传媒 Expands Sintered Pad Operations at its Ohio Plant

The unique nature of EBC鈥檚 sintered brake pad range for high-end cars and motorsport applications sets EBC products apart.

Made from a blend of carbon granules, ceramics, and sintered copper, the EBC line-up includes two grades: SR-11, with a friction coefficient above 0.55 – well beyond what semi-metallic compounds can deliver – and SR-21, offering even more grip with a friction coefficient of 0.65.

Both materials run safely up to temperatures well above 1700 掳F (925掳C) and have been successfully used in closed-circuit and undrance racing, including by ChampCar teams such as Eddie Vetter Racing and numerous drivers competing in GT Racing. Their combination of high friction levels, temperature stability, and proven durability continues to make them a popular choice among drivers seeking race-proven braking performance.

The Sintered SR pad range covers most popular aftermarket calipers, and a whole host of stock/OEM calipers, and details can be found here:

91传媒 Racing SR-Series Range

91传媒 are now tooling for August release of SR-Series sintered pads for the stock BMW M4 calipers, as shown below:

Gary Lowe uses RP-X鈩 and Bluestuff pads in his BMW 335i race car

Racing driver, Gary Lowe, is competing in the 2026 season of the 750MC Armed Forces Challenge in his freshly-built E92 BMW 335i.

Lowe has opted to use 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 RP-X鈩 motorsport brake pads for the front axle, as well as 91传媒鈥 Bluestuff NDX pads (rear) and GD discs (all-round).

Following podium finishes in his debutant outing in the car at Silverstone recently, we next caught up with Lowe fresh off the back of Snetterton 300 round of the championship, where he walked away from the weekend鈥檚 gruelling 45-minute endurance race with a class win, despite some technical setbacks mid-race.

You can read how it all panned out below in Gary鈥檚 own words below鈥

鈥淩ound 3 of the Armed Forces Race Challenge brought a different format, with a single 45-minute race featuring a mandatory pit stop.

鈥淗aving never driven the circuit outside of the simulator, qualifying was always going to be a learning experience. Unfortunately, the session was heavily disrupted by incidents, resulting in multiple yellow flags and a red flag, limiting us to just two genuine flying laps. Despite this, we secured P6 overall and P1 in class with a 2:19 lap time. Both the car and I had more pace to find, but given the circumstances, it was a solid result.”

鈥淭he race got off to a great start. A strong launch allowed us to move from P6 to P4, passing two cars before Turn 1 before making another move on the guest Caterham to take P3 heading into the second hairpin.

鈥淲e settled comfortably into third place and were showing strong race pace before technical issues began to emerge. A low coolant warning appeared, with temperatures gradually increasing. Initially, this reduced engine boost, causing us to lose ground, before eventually removing boost entirely.

鈥淔rom that point, the focus shifted from fighting for positions to managing the car and ensuring we reached the chequered flag without causing further damage. While several other Class B competitors also encountered issues and retired, allowing us to finish P1 in class, it was disappointing to lose what had been shaping up to be a very competitive result.”

鈥淭he positive takeaway is that the car clearly has the pace to run at the front, and the root cause of the issue has now been identified. We can address it, move forward, and come back stronger for the next round.

鈥淎nother major positive from the weekend was the performance of the EBC braking package. The combination of the RP-X鈩 front pads, Bluestuff rear pads and EBC discs performed flawlessly throughout the event. Even under repeated heavy braking for the duration of the 45-min race, there was no sign of fade, and pedal feel remained consistent from start to finish. That level of confidence allowed me to progressively push my braking points later as the day went on, knowing the brakes would deliver the same performance lap after lap, the T51 Racing bespoke brake cooling kit also played it part and helped to keep the whole system temps down throughout.”

鈥淎 huge thank-you to everyone who came along to support, help prepare the car, and make the weekend possible. There were a few challenges leading up to the event, and at times it looked like we might not make the grid, but thanks to the efforts of those around me, we got there.

鈥淔inally, a massive thank you to 91传媒, Karlyone Care Ltd, and the Army Sports Car Racing team for their continued support throughout the season. Your backing is greatly appreciated, and we鈥檙e looking forward to coming back fighting at Brands Hatch in August.鈥

Tennessee-based pro drifter, Hooman Rahimi, is once again competing in the PROSPEC category of the prestigious Formula Drift series in the USA.

Rahimi continues to entrust 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 Apollo Big Brake Kit with RP-1鈩 pads and GD rotors on his highly capable turbocharged LSX-powered Nissan 370Z.

Following some great results in 2025, we next caught up with Rahimi off the back of his first round of 2026, held at the prestigious Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta circuit in Georgia.

Read how it all panned out in his team鈥檚 words below鈥

鈥淲e had fun in Atlanta, though we didn’t get the results we were hoping for.

鈥淚t was a rainy start, and practice was cut really short. We tried some new setup changes that didn’t quite work in Atlanta how we wanted, with a few more practice laps we may have been able to get the car where we wanted.”

鈥淲e are headed up to Connecticut this week for Round 2 of Formula Drift. We are seeded already (based on season standings) for Top 32 so our first battle will be in the Top 32 bracket on Friday鈥︹

Since the second half of 2025, the outfit has been elevated to the GT4 Bronze class thanks to the acquisition of a G82 BMW M4 GT4 鈥 complete in the long-standing 91传媒 Racing livery.

This car has been sporting 91传媒 Racing鈥檚 SR-21鈩 sintered endurance race pads, giving the team the edge when it comes to stopping power.

We most recently caught up with Autoworks Motorsport off the back of their debutant race for 2026 at the famous Portim茫o Circuit, where great promise was shown across the weekend despite many setbacks.

Read how it all panned out in their own words below鈥

“Autoworks Motorsport closes the first round of the Iberian Supercars at the Algarve International Circuit with a bittersweet taste. The weekend demonstrated the excellent technical level of the Madrid structure and the incredibly fast race pace of its driver duo, but the final results were overshadowed by the harshness on track.

“The weekend began with very positive feelings in the qualifying sessions, where the tremendous equality and great form of the drivers from the Madrid structure were evident.”

“H茅ctor Hern谩ndez and Borja Hormigos drove to the limit, stopping the clock with a minimal difference of just one tenth of a second in favour of H茅ctor. This consistency in times demonstrated the rapid adaptation of both to the latest evolution of the BMW M4 GT4 (G82) and gave the team excellent starting positions for the official races. In the first race of the weekend, the team started from fourth position in the GT4 Bronze category, while in the second race they managed to secure a stellar second position.

“However, luck did not accompany them in both races when they were running in podium positions. In the first race, a heavy hit delivered by the same rival relegated the team to fifth final position, a result that did not do justice to the real pace on track. The story repeated itself almost identically in the second leg. A new impact by the same opponent left the vehicle severely damaged, forcing a retirement and depriving the car of crossing the finish line.”

“Despite the double material blow, the balance of the structure is positive professionally. The pure performance of the car, the race pace, and the flawless work of the young technical specialists and technological partners (91传媒 racing and ELF Lubricants) proved that the project has plenty of speed to fight for the GT4 Bronze championship.”

“Qualifying showed that Borja and I are running the same times and that the car is fast,” says H茅ctor Hern谩ndez. “The race pace was spectacular and that is the positive takeaway. We know we have the speed and that the team worked at two hundred percent, but it is a shame that external factors leave us without the points we deserved.”

“It makes us very angry to finish like this because starting second in race two, the podium was within our reach,” declares Borja Hormigos. “In the second leg, the hit forced us to retire. Now it is time to change the mindset immediately; we had to experience the bitter side of racing and now we have to pull together to leave the car perfect.”

“The logistics team is already on its way back to the Autoworks Motorsport facilities. The technical staff will focus all their efforts starting today on evaluating the structural damage and proceeding with the urgent repair of the BMW M4 GT4, with the aim of arriving in full condition for the most important event of the year in front of their fans.

“The second round of the Supercars Endurance season will be held at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama-RACE. The event will score points solely for the Spanish Supercars Championship and promises to bring together a high-level grid once again on a circuit with a unique history in Iberian motorsport.”

91传媒’ 100% UK and USA manufacturing is driving sales growth and acceptance by the market.

Launching dozens of new brake pad and rotor parts every month, EBC had a great start to the spring, with the receipt of R90 approval for its two-piece fully floating brake rotors, the launch of a new range of BMW riveted disc conversions, amidst multiple race successes in the brake pad field.

New ECO packaging, to reduce waste and protect products in transit, added to the dynamic.

The Club Racer team uses a raft of 91传媒 Racing components on their Mk5 VW Golf GTI

The Clubracer racing outfit 鈥 made up of drivers Henry Wright and Kevin Glover 鈥 has relied on 91传媒 components as it has made its way up the ranks through the MSVR Trackday Championship classes.

This all culminated in an聽outright championship win in 2025聽鈥 a fantastic result for the team. Riding off this success, they鈥檝e decided to move onto pastures new for the 2026 season, entering the 750MC Roadsports Championship in their modified Mk5 VW Golf GTI.

With a string of further upgrades applied over the winter, and retaining their winning Apollo Big Brake Kit/RP-X鈩 brake pad setup, the team secured podium in their debutant 2026 round at Croft.

We next caught up with the driver duo following their third round on the mighty Silverstone GP course, where more podiums ensured they left the weekend leading their class.

Find out how it all panned out in their own words below鈥

With the season nearing the half-way point, we headed to聽the home of the British GP for Round 3 at Silverstone. With the forecast looking to be red hot, and the entry list showing 62 cars, it was going to be a challenging weekend!

鈥淨ualifying with a two-driver team is always going to be difficult, especially on the longer circuits as we effectively lose 7-8 mins of the 25-min session with an in-lap, driver change and out lap et cetera 鈥 let alone getting your eye in quickly to put in fast laps with 61 other cars contesting the same piece of tarmac! With that said, we managed to hustle the car to P7 in class which with no testing and a few new chassis updates we were happy it was a good place to start the race!”

鈥淗aving sat for 20 mins in full race gear in the baking heat in the holding area, the race rolling start was a bit of an odd event, as when starting 27th in a packed grid with a lot of TCR cars and higher horsepower Class A cars, you can鈥檛 actually see the starting lights due to the nature of the curved start/finish straight. So, the first lap was a case of consolidating position, staying out of trouble and picking a few slow starting cars off. The temperature in the cockpit by this point was already getting to uncomfortable with the ambient temp being nearly 30掳C. Whilst the first half of the race continued, Henry managed to pass a couple fellow Class B runners and continue the slow but steady climb up the standings, helped by a few runners having heat related, and other issues. As it neared the end of the pitstop window, Henry managed to pick off the current class leader whilst battling through traffic heading down the Wellington straight promoting us to 4th in class. The next lap, Kev took the reins and set about consolidating the position with some high pressure from fellow Mk5 GTI driver, Josh Johnson. However, managing to complete the job allowing us to cross the line in 4th in class, just shy of the podium. A solid effort to make up 3 places from our qualifying position.”

鈥淭he post-race checks on 2 of the podium-finishing cars found them to be the wrong side of the regulations, one for weight infringement, one for ride height, thus promoting us to 2nd聽in class! A welcome result with all the hard work going on in the background on performance a reliability. Needless to say, the 355mm 6-pot Apollo big brake kit equipped with RP-X鈩 compound pads didn鈥檛 miss a beat, dealing with the hot temperatures, and giving high confidence from start to finish. We are also seeing impressive wear rates for both disc and pads given the harsh environment and relative heavy weight of the car. It鈥檚 nice to be able to largely forget about that factor as we know it 鈥榡ust works鈥! The rear setup utilising OEM equivalent Ultimax discs and pads is also surpassing expectations given the beating they receive!

鈥淲ith our (so far) consistent results this year, and constant development with the car, we currently head into Round 4 at Anglesey at the end of June heading the Class leaderboard 鈥 a genuinely amazing place to be with it being our first campaign in the 750mc Roadsports formula. Hopefully the second half of the seasons continues in the same way!鈥
